What are the effective exercises for frozen shoulder?

Patients with periarthritis of the shoulder can actually improve and treat the condition effectively through some exercises in their daily lives, but the exercises should pay attention to some methods, such as regularly doing some arm extension exercises or shoulder rotation exercises, and at the same time, they can use hot compresses or backstroke methods to help exercise.

1. Handle

The patient stands naturally, with the affected upper limb internally rotated and extended backward, and the healthy hand pulls the affected hand or wrist, gradually pulling it toward the healthy side and upward.

2. Extend the arm

Patients with periarthritis of the shoulder should let their upper limbs hang naturally, straighten their arms, slowly abduct their palms with their palms facing down, and lift them upward with force. After reaching the maximum limit, stop for 10 minutes, then return to the original position and repeat.

3. Shoulder rotation

Patients with periarthritis of the shoulder stand with the affected limb hanging naturally and the elbow straight. The affected arm makes circles from front to top and then back, with the amplitude increasing from small to large, and repeats several times.

4. Medicinal bath soak

Some conventional Chinese medicines are first soaked in an appropriate amount of clean water for 15 minutes. After boiling, the juice is taken and used for fumigation and washing of the affected shoulder while it is hot. If it is cold, heat it and then fumigate and wash. Medicinal bath can dispel wind, dampness, dredge meridians, warm the meridians and dispel cold, promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis, and it has a strong analgesic effect.

5. Backstroke

Alternately paddling your arms backwards like backstroke (you can walk backwards to maintain balance) 1-2 times a day. Your shoulders may hurt at the beginning, so you can control the time of each exercise to 5-10 minutes, and then slowly increase it.

6. Hot compress

Apply a hot towel to the affected side for 20 minutes at home every day, and the pain will be relieved. If the pain is very severe, you can apply hot compress for 20 minutes and then cold compress for 20 minutes, alternating between them.
