How to do rehabilitation exercises for frozen shoulder

How to do rehabilitation exercises for frozen shoulder

Of course, the treatment of frozen shoulder should focus on active rehabilitation and health care. We can do it through some exercises in daily life, such as rubbing the back, or pushing with a mallet, and repeatedly doing some stretching exercises.

1. Lying on the wall

Lie face-up on an empty wall, with the arms pressed against the wall, and use the fingers to move the arms gradually upwards to climb the wall. Keep your body stable and still, and try to climb your arms higher and higher until it hurts and you can't move any further. This can also be used as a part of daily exercise for frozen shoulder.

2. Back rubbing

When the arm affected by periarthritis of the shoulder touches the back from the lower back, it is often difficult for the two arms to touch each other. In this case, you can use a towel to connect the two arms, just like rubbing the back. This is a common daily exercise for frozen shoulder.

3. Circle

Stand with your feet upright, your hands hanging down, find a center point, and draw circles. Draw 40 times forwards and 40 times backwards, once for each arm, once a day.

4. Stick push

Find a stick about 50 cm long, hold it horizontally with both hands, and use the good hand to push the affected hand outward. Just push it outward a few centimeters every day, and repeat until the affected side can do abduction exercises.

5. Shake hands

The patient stands with his back against the wall, or lies on his back on the bed, with his upper arm close to the body and elbow bent, using the elbow as a fulcrum to perform external rotation activities.

6. Handle

The patient stands naturally, with the affected upper limb internally rotated and extended backward, and the healthy hand pulls the affected hand or wrist, gradually pulling it toward the healthy side and upward.

7. Extend your arms

Patients with periarthritis of the shoulder should let their upper limbs hang naturally, straighten their arms, slowly abduct their palms with their palms facing down, and lift them upward with force. After reaching the maximum limit, stop for 10 minutes, then return to the original position and repeat.

8. Shoulder rotation

Patients with periarthritis of the shoulder stand with the affected limb hanging naturally and the elbow straight. The affected arm makes circles from front to top and then back, with the amplitude increasing from small to large, and repeats several times.
