What to do if you feel suffocated

What to do if you feel suffocated

We often encounter unpleasant things in life. If we don’t adjust our mentality well, we will often feel suffocated, irritable, not wanting to do anything, and depressed. At this time, we must adjust as soon as possible, otherwise it will cause harm to our body. When we feel bad, we can talk to friends or listen to some soothing music, or we can do things we like, such as singing, dancing, and playing games.

1. Find the reason for your bad mood

When you are depressed or worried, don't let it develop. The key is to find out the reason, whether others have misunderstood you or you have done something wrong. After finding the crux of the problem, think of ways to deal with it. If you can't find the reason, then you may be in the "low tide" or "dangerous period" of your emotional cycle, or it may be due to environmental influences such as weather, and it will get better after a while. A study by Professor Roland Dahl of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center found that lack of sleep has a great impact on our emotions. He said: "For those who lack sleep, those annoying things can have a greater impact on their emotions.

2. Do some exercise

Go for a walk, or do some physical exercise. Write down 10 things you can do and start working through the list to overcome your body's inertia.

3. Journal your thoughts and feelings

In case you realize what is making you depressed and irritable, you can write it down and look through it from time to time to see what your record reflects about your mood. You can also record your thoughts and feelings through blog.

4. Find something joyful to do

Read a book, listen to music, or go out and experience something new. Watch a movie or play with your new iPod.

Make a list of things you want to do, and when you are bored, take it out and see which things are suitable for you to do.

5. Express your emotions appropriately

Maintaining a stable emotion does not mean that you become emotionally indifferent or have no emotional response to anything, but rather that you should avoid uncontrolled outbursts. It is human nature to experience joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness. Of course you will cry when you encounter sad things, and you will be happy when you encounter happy things, but you should express it appropriately and not excessively or for too long. For example, the death of a loved one is a sad thing, and trying not to cry is actually harmful to your health. Tears can remove harmful substances from the body and also relieve sadness and tension. But if the crying continues uncontrollably, it is abnormal. When you encounter troubles, find a close friend to talk to and say what you want to say, which will help you calm down. When you are filled with resentment and want to vent it on others, you can find some substitutes to vent it, such as throwing a doll that cannot be broken, hitting a thick tree, etc. We must learn to vent our emotions, that is, the object, place, occasion and method of venting should be appropriate to avoid hurting others.

6. Avoid people or situations that annoy you

If you feel bored or annoyed because of the people around you or the environment you are in, you can avoid it. While it's impossible to completely get rid of them, you can temporarily avoid them and give yourself a day to do the things you enjoy.

7. Use deep breathing techniques

When you are overly nervous or fearful, you can relieve psychological tension by relaxing your body. You can take a deep breath and then exhale slowly. This process can relax your muscles quickly. At the same time, keep telling yourself to "relax, relax" and focus on interesting things for a few minutes. You can repeat these steps until you relieve some of the negative emotions. This deep breathing technique is simple and can be practiced many times, both in hypothetical and real situations. This relaxation method was invented by Bug in 1972.

8. Cultivate curiosity

Cultivate your curiosity about what is happening around you and the changes that are happening to you. You feel life is boring because you repeat some habitual patterns. By cultivating curiosity, you can proactively think about how things could be done.

9. Develop hobbies

Develop your own hobbies, such as painting, playing, cooking, fishing, hiking, etc. If you are proficient in a certain area, you can teach these skills to others, which can also prevent yourself from being bored.

10. Go out and communicate with the outside world

If there's someone next to you who's as bored as you are, you can kind of talk to each other. Usually you'll start talking about how bored you are right now. If you can find a nice person to talk to, your annoyance will quickly dissipate and you may also learn something.
