Can immune encephalitis be cured?

Immune encephalitis is an autoimmune disease. Although it is a very rare disease, it poses a relatively great threat to the human body. It can easily cause multiple organ failure and even death. Therefore, timely treatment measures must be taken.

1. Autoimmune encephalitis is a very rare disease. Most patients are young women, and there are also local cases. Two to three people out of every 100,000 people suffer from autoimmune encephalitis. If the patient does not receive timely treatment, not only is the disease prone to relapse, but in severe cases, it can also cause multiple organ failure or even death.

2. Autoimmune encephalitis is a group of intractable focal persistent seizure diseases with unknown etiology, accompanied by progressive hemiplegia and mental retardation. Pathologically, it manifests as unilateral chronic encephalitis. Neuroimaging showed progressive hemi-atrophy.

3. The symptoms of autoimmune encephalitis start with persistent focal epileptic seizures, and those with local localization signs and corresponding abnormal brain waves and imaging changes can be diagnosed with this disease. However, common viral encephalitis with secondary epilepsy should be excluded.

4. In terms of treatment, first carry out standard anti-epileptic treatment (alone or in combination). If the first-line drugs are ineffective, use second-line drugs instead. Secondly, antiviral agents such as ganciclovir, acyclovir, etc. should be used. Again use large doses of interferon and human immunoglobulin. If it still doesn't work, prednisolone can be used as a last resort.
