What should we pay attention to when we have melasma?

When chloasma appears, some people try various methods, but they should not ignore the dietary problems in life. A reasonable diet is an effective way to prevent and treat chloasma. You can supplement more vitamins and eat more tomatoes, green peppers, hawthorn and other foods.

1. Diet for chloasma. Chloasma is a pigmented skin disease that occurs on the face. It appears symmetrically on the face in a butterfly shape, so it is also called butterfly spots. There are many reasons for the formation of chloasma. When the liver or kidney function is poor and the human body is exposed to excessive ultraviolet radiation, chloasma is very likely to occur on the face. Chloasma is also related to the chloasma constitution caused by genetics.

2. In addition, mental factors, chronic wasting diseases, women's pregnancy and stimulation from certain inferior cosmetics are all prone to this disease. Traditional Chinese medicine summarizes the etiology and pathogenesis of chloasma into the following aspects: insufficient essence and blood, which cannot nourish the face; or qi, blood, phlegm and blood stasis stagnate under the skin, resulting in pigmentation; or liver depression and qi stagnation, which turns into heat over time and burns the yin blood, causing facial qi and blood disharmony and the disease; or spleen deficiency produces dampness, and damp heat accumulates and steams up to the face; some people also believe that it is related to Chong and Ren, which start from the uterus and eventually ascend to the face, liver depression and blood stasis damage Chong and Ren, and qi and blood cannot nourish the face, thus causing this disease. No matter what the situation is, it is nothing more than caused by deficiency, blood stasis, dampness and heat.

3. Chloasma is closely related to diet. Experts believe that long-term lack of glutathione in the diet can cause tyrosine in the skin to form dopaquinone, which is then oxidized into dopamine to form melanin, resulting in pigmentation. Therefore, a reasonable diet has a certain effect on preventing and treating chloasma. Practice has shown that patients with chloasma should regularly consume foods rich in vitamin C, such as citrus fruits, tomatoes, green peppers, hawthorn, fresh dates, kiwis, fresh green leafy vegetables, etc. Because vitamin C is an oxidant, it can inhibit the oxidation of dopaquinone in the skin, convert the dark oxidized pigments in the skin into reduced light pigments, and inhibit the formation of melanin. Therefore, eating foods rich in vitamin C regularly can reduce pigmentation, which is very beneficial for preventing and treating chloasma.
