Can hemorrhoids cause constipation?

In fact, in life, many people are troubled and affected by hemorrhoids. Generally, hemorrhoids will not cause constipation. It is more habitual constipation that induces hemorrhoids. Therefore, if you want to prevent hemorrhoids, you should pay attention to avoid constipation problems.

It is not hemorrhoids that cause constipation, but habitual constipation that induces hemorrhoids. To put it more clearly, constipation is an important factor in the formation of hemorrhoids. Of course, objectively speaking, constipation caused by hemorrhoids is not common. The pain will aggravate the original constipation, but it is not the main cause of constipation.

Constipation can cause hemorrhoids:

one. Dry feces in the rectum are not only harmful to human health, but also very detrimental to the blood circulation in the rectum and anus. Especially when these dry feces are discharged through the anus, the strong squeezing pressure often causes the blood vessels in the anus to dilate and blood stasis. Some may even cause anal fissures and bleeding. Constipation can cause anal bleeding.

2. Because defecation takes too long and is more strenuous, it can increase abdominal pressure, cause congestion in the anorectum, and varicose veins in hemorrhoids. Over time, the pressure in the hemorrhoidal veins will increase, causing varicose veins and expansion, resulting in hemorrhoids. If you already have hemorrhoids, the long-term increase in abdominal pressure will destroy the supporting structure of the anal cushions, and the anal vascular cushions will lose support and move downward, thereby further aggravating the hemorrhoids and causing prolapse of hemorrhoids and incarceration of internal hemorrhoids. Constipation can make hemorrhoids worse.

3. When dry feces passes through the anus, it will scratch the hemorrhoidal mucosa and cause hemorrhoidal bleeding. If dry and hard feces abrade the anal skin, it will cause anal infection, edema and hyperplasia of fibrous connective tissue, leading to the occurrence of inflammatory external hemorrhoids and connective tissue external hemorrhoids. Dry stool, difficulty in defecation, and prolonged struggle can cause the rupture of small veins under the skin around the anus, leading to the formation of thrombosed external hemorrhoids. Because patients are afraid of anal pain and bleeding caused by defecation and hold their bowel movements for a long time, this not only aggravates constipation, but also causes a disorder in bowel habits and aggravates the symptoms of difficulty in defecation.
