What is causing the chest pain?

If you have chest pain, you cannot define it blindly. You should go to the hospital for a comprehensive examination, because there may be many reasons for chest pain, such as coronary heart disease, angina pectoris, or anxiety.

1. Chest wall pain

Chest wall pain is also called musculoskeletal pain. This type of chest pain is concentrated in one location and can be clearly felt. This type of chest wall pain does not last long, only between 1-2 seconds, and is likely to recur. Chest wall pain usually occurs when people take a deep breath, cough violently, sneeze, or turn around temporarily, causing stabbing pain or even severe pain in the chest. This chest wall pain may take a few days to 2-3 weeks to heal.

Common causes of chest wall pain include sprained and inflamed cartilage between ribs, inflammation caused by influenza, or, less commonly, broken ribs.

2. Anxiety-related chest pain

According to clinical research, people who suffer from anxiety-related chest pain will experience pain that lasts for hours, days, years or even more than ten years. The location of this chest pain cannot be clearly determined, and most of the time it manifests as chest tightness and discomfort. Common symptoms of this anxiety-related chest pain include dizziness, sweating, nausea, shortness of breath, fear of heat and cold, and numbness in the hands, feet, and even lips.

Causes of anxiety-related chest pain

However, when patients experience New Year anxiety, they may also experience chest pain. So if you want treatment, you need to find a psychologist.

3. Angina pectoris due to coronary heart disease

This type of chest pain is obviously pathological pain, which comes from angina pectoris caused by coronary heart disease. This pain is serious and can cause pain in daily actions such as walking, exercising, and climbing stairs. However, when people stop and move, the pain also stops. Angina pectoris caused by coronary heart disease usually lasts for 5-10 minutes. If it exceeds 15 minutes and cold sweats continue, it is possible to have myocardial infarction and should be sent to the hospital promptly.
