What's the matter with my eyelids twitching all the time

Many people judge good or bad luck by the condition of their eyelid twitching, but in fact, constant eyelid twitching may be caused by some eye diseases, or if you overuse your eyes, have eye fatigue, or mental stress, it may cause frequent eyelid twitching.

Eyelid manifestation

From the perspective of human anatomy, the eyelids are called "eyelids". There are two kinds of muscles in the eyelids. One is called "orbicularis oculi muscle", which is shaped like a wheel and surrounds the eyes. When it contracts, the eyelids close. The other muscle is called "levator palpebrae superioris muscle", which opens the eyelids when it contracts.

The continuous contraction and relaxation of these two muscles allows the eyes to open and close. Once stimulated by certain factors, these two muscles become excited and produce repeated contractions, even spasms or tremors, so people can clearly feel that their eyelids are twitching involuntarily and are difficult to control. This is eyelid twitching.

Eye fatigue caused

The most common cause of eyelid twitching is overuse of the eyes, which causes eye fatigue, or fatigue, excessive mental stress, etc. For example, spending too much time on the computer, using your eyes for too long in strong or weak light, being under too much mental stress before an exam, doing too many test questions, etc., can cause your eyelids to become weak and twitch involuntarily. At this time, just take a short rest, close your eyes and relax, and the symptoms will disappear naturally. There is no need to be nervous or worried. If the patient has refractive errors, myopia, hyperopia or astigmatism, and does not wear suitable glasses and causes eyelid twitching, it is just a reminder for you to get glasses that suit your vision.

Finding the cause

If the eyelid twitching lasts for a short time, it is a normal physiological transient phenomenon and does not require special treatment. You just need to close your eyes and take a rest. But if the twitching lasts for a long time, or even causes trouble in your life, you should see a doctor to find out the cause.
