What are the drugs that help sleep

If your sleep is not particularly good, it is best to adjust it through diet. Do not take drugs that can help you sleep unless it is absolutely necessary, because these drugs will have more or less side effects and can easily lead to drug dependence. More importantly, if you take sleep-aiding drugs for a long time, then if you stop taking them later, insomnia will become more serious. Here are some common sleep aids.

There are many sedative and hypnotic drugs currently available, among which benzodiazepines are the most commonly used. According to the half-life, this type of drug can be divided into three categories: short-acting, medium-acting and long-acting. Short-acting type: half-life is less than 12 hours, such as triazolam, midazolam, norexam and brotizolam, etc., mainly used for difficulty falling asleep; intermediate-acting type: half-life is 10 to 20 hours, mainly used for restless sleep and easy awakening, such as temazepam, lorazepam, sedazepam, and gentamicin; long-acting type: half-life is more than 20 hours, mainly used for early awakening and difficulty falling asleep after waking up, commonly used ones are clonazepam, diazepam, nitrazepam, flurazepam and flunitrazepam. The following is a brief introduction with examples.

Midazolam, also known as midazolam, domiacol, and imidazole diazepam. It has a short duration of action and is suitable for various insomnia and sleep rhythm disorders, difficulty falling asleep, and before surgery or diagnostic procedures. The dosage for adults is 7.5 to 15 mg each time, taken before bedtime. Since the ability to drive and operate machinery may be affected within 6 hours after taking the drug, people engaged in the above-mentioned work should use it with caution. In addition, it should not be taken by people with schizophrenia or severe depression, and is prohibited for use by pregnant women and people with myasthenia gravis.

In order to help sleep, you can adjust your diet. For example, eating some lettuce can help you sleep, because the lettuce juice contains ingredients with a chemical structure similar to opium. This ingredient can help us fall asleep, and we don’t have to worry about side effects from eating lettuce. Drinking chrysanthemum tea regularly can help you sleep.
