Asthma is a very common respiratory disease. There are many causes of the disease, which may be congenital or acquired. When an asthma attack occurs, symptoms such as difficulty breathing, chest tightness, dizziness, etc. will occur, so timely first aid is needed, otherwise suffocation is likely to occur. Moreover, asthma attacks are very dangerous, so it is necessary to master the first aid knowledge of asthma. So how should you provide first aid when an asthma attack occurs? 1) Reduce the patient's psychological pressure, eliminate fear and anxiety, but use sedatives with caution. Assist the patient to rest in a sitting or semi-recumbent position; or let the patient kneel on the bed holding a pillow with his waist leaning forward. This position helps the patient breathe. Unbutton your collar and loosen your belt to avoid chest and abdominal pressure and unnecessary movement. Clear oral and nasal secretions and keep the airways open. 2) When moderate or severe asthma attacks occur, the airway is blocked and alveolar ventilation is insufficient, causing obvious hypoxia in the body, and oxygen must be supplemented in a timely manner. When the patient has severe breathing difficulties and blue lips and nails, oxygen should be given as soon as possible. Quickly take out the home oxygen bottle and let the patient inhale a high-flow oxygen of 3L per minute through a nasal cannula or mask. For patients with asthma, they should be prepared in the following aspects in their daily life: ① Use an oxygen bag (oxygen pillow) or a compressed oxygen cylinder, and always fill it with oxygen for use. ② Before inhaling oxygen, it should be properly heated and humidified through a water-sealed bottle to prevent the oxygen from being too dry or too cold and irritating the respiratory tract. It can also dilute the sputum to facilitate expectoration. 3) Inhale the aerosol of salbutamol or salbutamol (Ventolin), press 1-2 sprays, no more than 6-8 sprays per day. Take 2-4 mg of Ventolin orally, 3 times a day. 4) Keep the patient warm, maintain a quiet environment, and encourage the patient to cooperate with treatment. 5) Family members should not surround the patient and should keep the air around the patient fresh; the room should be ventilated and the air should be fresh, but there should be no draft. Avoid irritating gases such as kerosene, smoke, paint, etc. in the room. There are many reasons that cause asthma attacks, such as emotional fluctuations, excessive exercise, etc., which can all cause asthma. Moreover, asthma cannot be cured. It is a lifelong disease. Therefore, when asthma attacks, it is important to receive timely treatment, otherwise it will delay the best treatment. It is recommended that asthma patients carry antiasthmatic drugs with them. |
