Is surgery for ankylosing spondylitis good or not?

Ankylosing spondylitis is a relatively common disease in clinical practice. After all, people’s pace of life is too fast nowadays, and many people have to sit for a long time when working, so problems with the spine are very likely to occur. Nowadays, surgical treatment can be said to be a commonly used treatment for ankylosing spondylitis, but the requirements for surgery are relatively high, which still depends on how the patient's condition progresses. So, is surgery for ankylosing spondylitis a good idea?

The treatment of diseases should start from the cause. Ankylosing spondylitis is a difficult disease in the world and an immune system disease. It is necessary to fundamentally regulate the immunity and balance the immunity. Only in this way can the disease be fundamentally controlled. Moreover, even if surgery is performed, the disease must be controlled first, otherwise the surgery may be life-threatening. Therefore, patients must choose treatment carefully.

Ankylosing spondylitis health care methods:

(1) The patient continues the previous posture: Use finger pressing to press the bladder meridian on both sides of the spine and the Zhibian, Huantiao, and Judan points on the buttocks.

(2) Prone position: Place 2 to 3 pillows in front of the upper chest and thighs, so that the chest and abdomen are suspended in the air, and the arms are bent at the elbows and placed in front of the head. The doctor stands by and treats the patient's waist and back along the spine and both sides, up and down. At the same time, the other palm presses along the spine on the back. The pressing should be coordinated with the patient's breathing, pressing down when exhaling and relaxing when inhaling.

(3) There is also a sitting position: the doctor stands behind and applies pressure to both sides of the neck and shoulder blades, while coordinating the left and right rotation and pitch and tilt movements of the neck. Then, massage or use one finger to push up and down both sides of the cervical vertebrae, back and forth several times, and then move to Fengchi and both sides of the cervical vertebrae to Jianjing.

(4) Second, supine position: treat the front of the hip joint, and coordinate passive activities such as abduction and external rotation of the hip joint. Then take the inner thigh muscles and rub the thighs.

(5) The fifth point to note is the patient’s sitting position: the patient’s back and waist should be exposed, with the upper body leaning forward. The doctor should stand beside the patient and apply elbow pressure to both sides of the spine. Then rub the Du meridian on the back and the bladder meridian on both sides directly, and rub the sacrum horizontally, all until the heat penetrates. You can add hot compress.

(6) The last step is to continue with the previous posture: ask the patient to bend his elbows, hold them at the back of his head, and cross his fingers and clench them. The doctor stands behind the patient, with his knees against the patient's back, and then holds the patient's elbows with both hands, performing chest-expanding and bending movements by pulling backward and bending forward. When performing this passive activity, the patient should coordinate with the breathing movement (exhale when bending forward and inhale when leaning back). Pitch up and down 5 to 8 times.

You should pay attention to preventing colds and avoid living in humid places. Especially when you are weak, you should wear more clothes when going out. You should insist on physical exercise and strengthen your physical fitness, so that you can prevent ankylosing spondylitis through exercise. In addition, you must keep your spirits happy every day and avoid any negative emotions.
