It is a top-grade medicinal material. It is slightly warm in nature and tastes spicy and bitter. It promotes qi circulation and relieves pain, warms the middle and stops vomiting, promotes qi circulation and relieves asthma. It is used to treat chest and abdominal distension and pain, stomach cold vomiting and hiccups, kidney deficiency, qi reversal and shortness of breath, etc. The dosage is 1.5~4.5g, and it is best to add it last into the decoction.

1. Treat cold air attacking the heart and abdomen, rashes, weak spleen and stomach, loss of appetite, vomiting, cold phlegm, and mental confusion: agarwood, costus root, betel nut, and lindera stalk. Use 8/10 cup of water to divide the above into four parts, and slowly grind each medicine in a mortar until it becomes thick with water. 2. Treats stagnation of yin and yang, inability of qi to rise and fall, chest and diaphragm fullness and stuffiness, heart and abdomen distension, shortness of breath, dry breath, hiccups, irritability, cough, sputum, tastelessness in the mouth, preference for lying down, and decreased appetite. It also treats stomach paralysis, retained fluid, belching, sour smell of vinegar, and a lump under the ribs that often causes stuffiness: 400 liang of Cyperus rotundus (fried and hair removed), 18.5 liang of Agarwood, 48 liang of Amomum villosum, and 120 liang of Licorice (fire monitoring). 3. To treat abdominal distension, shortness of breath and restlessness: fry 50 cents each of agarwood, costus root and bitter orange and 1 liang of radish seeds. Take 50 grams of ginger and 3 slices boiled in water. ("Red Water Pearl" Agarwood Drink)

4. To treat chronic heartache: one liang each of agarwood (filed) and chicken tongue incense, half a liang of fumigated incense (ground), and one fen of musk (grind to remove the fascia). Grind the above four ingredients into fine powder, take three qian of it each time, boil it with one medium cup of water until seven parts are left, remove the residue and drink it warm after meals. Effects of Agarwood

Lowers the qi and warms the middle, warms the kidneys and absorbs qi. It promotes qi circulation and relieves pain, warms the middle and stops vomiting, promotes qi circulation and relieves asthma. It is used to treat chest and abdominal distension and pain, stomach cold vomiting and hiccups, kidney deficiency, qi reversal and shortness of breath, etc. Agarwood contains volatile oil and resin. The volatile oil contains agarospirol, which has a sedative effect. It has the medicinal effects of promoting qi and relieving pain, regulating the middle and calming the liver, warming the kidney and absorbing qi. Indications: Treats gas reversal and wheezing, vomiting and hiccups, abdominal distension and pain, coldness of the waist and knees, constipation of the large intestine, stranguria with gas in the urine, and cold semen in men.

1. Agarwood should not be exposed to fire and should be ground raw before use.

2. For patients with cold stagnation and qi stagnation, with symptoms of chest and abdominal distension, stuffiness, coldness and pain, it can be used together with Atractylodes lancea, Costus root and Areca catechu to promote qi circulation, warm the middle and relieve pain.

3. For those with insufficient kidney yang, weak fire in the gate of life, cold pain in the navel and abdomen, soreness of the waist and knees, impotence and cold semen, it can be used with deer antler, aconite, rehmannia, and eurycoma longifolia to warm the kidney and strengthen yang.

4. For those with insufficient vital energy, kidney failure to absorb energy, and symptoms such as shortness of breath and weakness, it can be combined with aconite, rehmannia glutinosa, and gecko.
