What to do if the brain is poisoned by alcohol?

Nowadays, people's pace of life is getting faster and faster, and there are more and more social engagements and parties. Chinese people pay attention to discussing business at the dinner table, and drinking some wine is inevitable at the banquet. Under the urging of friends, many people will accidentally drink too much. Too much will lead to alcohol poisoning. The most serious is brain alcohol poisoning, which needs to be treated in time. So, what should we do if the brain is poisoned by alcohol?

Excessive alcohol intake by the brain can cause serious damage to memory, attention, judgment, function and emotional response. Drinking too much can cause slurred speech, blurred vision, and loss of balance.

1 The first step to quitting drinking is to cut off the source of alcohol. The progress of quitting drinking is generally controlled according to the degree of alcohol poisoning. For mild cases, you can quit drinking all at once; for severe cases, you can quit drinking gradually using the tapering method to avoid severe withdrawal symptoms that endanger your life. During the alcohol withdrawal process, especially in the first week, close observation and monitoring should be carried out, paying attention to the patient's vital signs, state of consciousness, etc.

2 Antagonist treatment of disulfiram: take it 24 hours after the last drinking, once a day, 0.25-0.5g each time, for three weeks. Disulfiram inhibits acetaldehyde dehydrogenase. If you take this medicine and then drink alcohol, acetaldehyde will accumulate in the body within a few minutes and cause nausea, vomiting, palpitations, anxiety, flushing and other "flush reactions", making people hate drinking. You should not drink alcohol for five days after taking disulfiram. If you drink too much, you may develop severe acetaldehyde syndrome. Can be life-threatening. It is contraindicated for patients with cardiovascular disease or poor physical function.

3 Symptomatic treatment for patients with chronic alcohol poisoning should first be immediate intramuscular injection of vitamin B1 100 mg, one is to supplement the possible vitamin B1 deficiency, the other is to prevent the onset of Wernicke's encephalopathy.

The brain is the organ that consumes the most oxygen in the human body. It is not sensitive to mechanical stimulation but very sensitive to hypoxia. Clinically, some patients often suffer from long-term headaches, heavy heads, dizziness, and drowsiness, especially after meals or when working at a desk for a long time. Most of these patients have poor sleep, dream a lot or wake up early, and may also be accompanied by symptoms such as chest tightness, shortness of breath, and palpitations. Blood pressure may be low within the normal range or fluctuate. When the eyes are closed, tremors may occur. Cerebral blood flow examinations indicate insufficient blood supply, indicating that the oxygen supply to the brain is lower than the oxygen consumption of normal brain activities. Over time, it can lead to the occurrence of ischemic encephalopathy such as premature aging, cerebral arteriosclerosis, and brain atrophy.

Everyone knows that it is not advisable to drink too much alcohol. A little alcohol can make you happy, but drinking too much will harm your body. So you must control the amount you drink, don't act on impulse, and think more about the consequences before doing anything. You should eat something before drinking. Don't drink on an empty stomach, as it hurts your stomach. You can eat a few oranges or drink a glass of yogurt half an hour before drinking.
