Symptoms of atypical herpes

At present, some friends will suffer from a disease called atypical herpes. So, at the beginning, what are the symptoms of atypical herpes? I think many friends don’t know much about it, which leads to seeking medical treatment indiscriminately. This way, not only can the disease not be cured, but also the chance of curing the disease will be delayed. What are the symptoms of atypical herpes?

In a few cases, the clinical manifestations are atypical, and the common ones are:

① Incomplete pocket herpes (abortive type), only erythema and papules appear, and no typical blisters occur.

② Bullous pocket herpes can form blisters ranging in size from peas to cherries.

③ Hemorrhagic pocket herpes, the contents of the blisters are bloody.

④ Gangrenous pocket herpes: gangrene occurs in the center of the rash, forming a black scab that is difficult to peel off and leaves scars after healing.

⑤ Disseminated herpes zoster: in patients with malignant tumors or the elderly and infirm, within a few days of the local rash, an itchy rash similar to chickenpox appears all over the body, often accompanied by high fever, and may be complicated by lung and brain damage. In severe cases, it can cause death.

In addition to the above-mentioned atypical herpes zoster, some special parts or special types of herpes zoster can be seen clinically, as follows:

1. Herpes zoster ophthalmicus: Herpes zoster ophthalmicus is mostly sporadic, with the most common onset from September to November. Clinically, herpes zoster ophthalmicus is accompanied by involvement of the first branch of the ipsilateral trigeminal nerve, which can be seen as red and swollen pupil, conjunctival congestion, blisters and crusts. It can also affect the cornea to form ulcerative keratitis, and later blindness due to scar formation. In severe cases, panophthalmitis, encephalitis, and even death may occur.

2. Herpes zoster oticus: also known as Hunt syndrome, is caused by VZV invading the facial nerve and auditory nerve. The clinical characteristics are mild pain and ipsilateral facial paralysis, occasionally accompanied by hearing loss, dizziness, etc. It may be accompanied by fever, local lymph node swelling and then mumps.

3. Herpes zoster meningitis: It is caused by the virus invading the central nervous system directly from the front and back of the spinal nerves. Most cases occur in patients with involvement of cranial nerves, cervical or upper thoracic spinal cord nerve segments. Symptoms include headache, vomiting, convulsions or other progressive sensory disorders, and may also include ataxia and other cerebellar symptoms.

4. Visceral herpes zoster: The virus invades the visceral nerve fibers of the sympathetic and parasympathetic nerves from the back of the spinal cord, causing gastrointestinal or urinary tract symptoms. When it invades the pleura and peritoneum, irritation symptoms or even effusion occur.

Through the above introduction, everyone must be very clear that the harm of atypical herpes is very great. You must also understand the symptoms of atypical herpes introduced above. Now that you understand it, you must discover the disease as soon as possible, go to a regular hospital for regular examinations, identify the cause, and actively cooperate with treatment.
