The reason why my left upper eyelid keeps twitching

The reason why my left upper eyelid keeps twitching

As the saying goes, "left eye twitching means good fortune, right eye twitching means disaster", however this saying has no scientific basis. "Eyelid twitching" is actually a precursor to certain disease in the human body. Eyelid twitching is not necessarily a good sign. What people used to say about left eye twitching bringing good luck and right eye twitching bringing disaster is not necessarily correct. Everything has two sides. While we see the good side, we should also be aware that it may have a bad side. Although this left eye twitching or right eye twitching disease does not necessarily bring good luck, it is certain that it may be a disease.

There are two causes. One is lack of rest and sleep, or anemia, excessive smoking and drinking. The other is eye disease, such as myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, conjunctivitis, keratitis, etc., which are mostly caused by mental stress, eye muscle fatigue, lack of sleep, precursors of chronic diseases and sequelae of facial paralysis. Excessive use of the eyes leads to eye fatigue and eye muscle spasms, which cause involuntary eyelid twitching. Applying a hot towel to the eyes every day can effectively relieve your symptoms.

Eyelid twitching is actually an alarm that reflects the health status of the human body. For most people who simply suffer from eyelid twitching, the most common reasons are overuse of the eyes, fatigue, excessive mental stress, etc. In addition, refractive errors, myopia, hyperopia or astigmatism, foreign bodies in the eye, trichiasis, conjunctivitis, keratitis, etc. can also cause eyelid twitching.

Most eyelid twitching caused by eye muscle fatigue, mental tension, etc. can be recovered by relieving stress and getting proper rest. If eyelid twitching is caused by refractive error, it can usually be relieved by vision correction. If you have eye problems, they can be cured by an ophthalmologist. If the eyelid twitching worsens and causes blepharospasm or hemifacial spasm, treatment by a neurosurgeon may be necessary.

In fact, this can also be regarded as a beautiful lie made up for us by the older generation, and these beautiful lies make our childhood more colorful. So usually, just listen for fun and don’t take it seriously. Don't believe it with a lucky mentality, thinking that you will really get rich. Although some normal eye twitching is caused by fatigue or mood, there are definitely other abnormal aspects. And if you find any abnormalities, you must go to the hospital for a check-up for early detection and early treatment.
