What are the symptoms of nasopharyngeal cancer

Many times, because nasopharyngeal cancer patients cannot detect the onset of cancer in time, they miss the best treatment period. Therefore, in order to get better treatment, we must first understand the symptoms of nasopharyngeal cancer. So, what are the symptoms of nasopharyngeal cancer? What are they like?

The main symptoms of nasopharyngeal cancer are as follows:

1. Runny nose and blood. Runny nose and blood are early symptoms of nasopharyngeal carcinoma, manifested as blood in the runny nose, or runny nose sucked out of the mouth, also known as blood in suction. Runny nose and blood usually occur in the morning after getting up. When the runny nose and blood are not much, patients tend to ignore it, mistakenly thinking it is rhinitis or sinusitis, or as medical hemoptysis. But this does not mean that "runny nose with blood" is nasopharyngeal carcinoma. It is actually very simple to distinguish "runny nose with blood" from cancer. Bleeding caused by dryness of the nasal cavity or nasopharynx usually does not last for a long time, while bleeding from nasopharyngeal carcinoma is repeated, persistent and aggravated.

2. Tinnitus and hearing loss Tinnitus, stuffy ears, and hearing loss are also early signs of nasopharyngeal carcinoma. This symptom is caused by the nasopharyngeal carcinoma neoplasm blocking the Eustachian tube opening on the affected side. Hearing loss may also be caused by further deterioration of nasopharyngeal carcinoma and damage to the auditory nerve. Tinnitus and hearing loss are often misdiagnosed as otitis media or other diseases, delaying treatment.

3. Swollen cervical lymph nodes. Swollen cervical lymph nodes are the first symptom in 60% of cases. Metastasis often occurs in the upper group of lymph nodes in the deep neck, starting as unilateral and then developing into bilateral.

4. Symptoms of tumor metastasis: The most common symptoms are neck mass growth and bone pain. Pressing the mass is painless and hard. Distant metastasis can be transferred to various parts of the body through the blood, but it is more common in bones, lungs, and liver, and metastasis can occur in multiple organs at the same time. Different symptoms will appear depending on the location of the metastasis.
