Why do hands peel off

Why do hands peel off

There are many different causes of peeling fingers. It may be caused by frequent contact with irritating chemicals, or it may be due to skin dehydration caused by dry weather. Therefore, it is recommended that you pay attention to skin hydration in the dry season. When the palms of our hands begin to peel, we should pay attention to skin hygiene and supplement with vitamin A.

What causes peeling hands?

Frequent exposure to irritating chemicals

Many people experience peeling of their hands, which is more common in early autumn, especially after contact with products containing irritating chemicals, such as soap, laundry detergent, etc. The skin always peels for no reason, usually starting from the fingers and slowly extending to the palms. It usually heals on its own after a period of time without any pain or itching.

In fact, this phenomenon is normal and there is no need to make a fuss about it. In daily life, as long as you pay attention to minimizing contact with irritating chemicals such as soap and laundry detergent, and at the same time supplement with more foods containing vitamin C, you can alleviate this phenomenon.

Vitamin deficiency

When our bodies lack vitamins, our hands may easily peel. Especially when there is a lack of vitamin A, vitamin B and vitamin C, it may cause peeling of hands. Because if you are too picky about food, your body will not be able to absorb enough vitamins, which can easily lead to an imbalance of various nutrients, thus causing peeling of your hands.

Therefore, in daily life, we should develop the habit of not being picky about food, and pay attention to eating more fruits and vegetables, especially foods rich in vitamin B and vitamin C, to ensure balanced nutrition in the body. In addition, you can also apply some vitamin C on the peeling areas, which will have a good effect on peeling and damaged skin.

Dry weather and lack of moisture

When the weather is particularly dry, if you do not pay attention to the care of your hands, it is easy to cause the skin on your hands to become dehydrated and form dead skin.

When this happens, you should drink more water and replenish water in time. In addition, you can also apply some hand cream on your hands to moisturize the skin and reduce the loss of moisture in the skin of your hands, thereby effectively alleviating the phenomenon of peeling hands.

Other causes

When you have skin allergies or suffer from tinea manuum, dyshidrotic eczema, etc., peeling will occur on your hands. At this time, you should go to the hospital in time for medical treatment and prescribe the right medicine. Especially hand tinea and other diseases are highly contagious. If you are not careful, they will endanger other parts of your body and be transmitted to others. You must pay enough attention to them.

What to do if your hands are peeling

Palm peeling is seasonal and tends to heal on its own, generally without the need for special treatment. For patients with more serious or recurrent symptoms, Western medicine often uses sedatives, antihistamines and anticholine drugs for treatment.

1. Take fresh leek juice with appropriate amount of brown and white sugar once a day for 4 consecutive times for effective results.

2. For more serious or recurrent cases, you can take Liuwei Dihuang Pills or Liuwei Dihuang Decoction with modifications: 20 grams of Rehmannia glutinosa, 15 grams of yam, 10 grams of Cornus officinalis, 10 grams of Moutan bark, 10 grams of Alisma orientalis, and 15 grams of Poria. Add water to 15 grams of Saposhnikovia divaricata and 30 grams of Tribulus terrestris, boil and drink. Generally, 3-5 doses are enough to see results.

3. Apply vitamin C injection to the affected area twice a day, for a course of 3 days. It has a good effect on the recovery of skin lesions.

Method: Wash your hands first, wait until they are slightly dry, pour vitamin C injection solution into your palms, then rub the solution evenly with both palms, and wash it off when the solution dries and turns white. Take 2 times a day, 2 ml each time.

Efficacy: There are reports of using vitamin C to treat patients with peeling hands. For mild cases, the effect is obvious after one time, and for severe cases, the effect is obvious after three times, and the skin can be cured within a few days.

4. Patients should also maintain an optimistic mood, avoid mental stress and emotional excitement, and try to avoid contact with alkaline detergents. Can prevent the occurrence of this disease.

5. Chop the ginger into pieces and soak it in white wine for 24 hours. Then apply it to the affected area 1-2 times a day. The effect is very significant.
