Drink more water after doing these things

Drink more water after doing these things

As we all know, life cannot live without water. Experts suggest that under normal circumstances, it is more appropriate to drink 6 to 8 cups of water (about 200 ml per cup) a day. In fact, 6 to 8 glasses of water is not a fixed number, and the amount of water you drink needs to be adjusted according to special circumstances. If you do the following things, your body will be more likely to lose water, so you should replenish water in time!

1. Too much sodium intake

If you consume too much sodium, your kidneys need to excrete the excess sodium, and they need a lot of water to go with it. Therefore, once you eat too much salt (sodium chloride), too many pickles, or too much MSG (monosodium glutamate) or chicken essence (monosodium glutamate, sodium chloride and sodium nucleotides), you will feel thirsty.

Consuming too much sodium can also lead to high blood pressure, decreased saliva secretion, oral mucosal edema, etc. So you must replenish water in time at this time.

2. High protein intake

If you eat too much protein, the excess amino acids will be converted into urea and then excreted from the kidneys. A lot of water will also be lost at the same time because the human body cannot directly excrete urea crystals like nitrogen fertilizer. Therefore, if you eat too much chicken, duck, fish and meat, you will feel thirsty more easily. Therefore, when you eat too much meat and other high-protein foods, you should also pay attention to drinking water.

Of course, this will also increase the burden on the kidneys, so people with renal dysfunction should not consume excessive protein.

3. After eating spicy food

Eating spicy food can easily cause symptoms such as dry throat and chapped lips, so you should pay more attention to replenishing water.

In addition to boiled water, chrysanthemum tea, sour plum soup, etc. are good "fire extinguishers". Drinking a cup of yogurt or milk can not only relieve the spiciness but also clear away heat.

4. After exercise

Exercise consumes the body's heat energy and quickly consumes water in the body, often making people feel dry mouth and tongue, so you should replenish water in time after exercise, but you also need to pay attention to how to drink water scientifically after exercise.

It is best to drink boiled water, mung bean soup and light salt water after exercise. These can not only relieve fever, but also replenish the sodium lost by the body through sweat. The amount of water you drink at one time should generally not exceed 200 ml, and there should be at least 15 minutes between two drinks. In addition, drink water slowly, not too fast.

5. After massage

After foot massage, the metabolism of all internal organs is enhanced, blood concentration increases, and the body naturally requires water to help the kidneys eliminate toxins produced by the decomposition of fat, protein, etc. in the body.

However, you should avoid drinking cold water before and after massage, so as to avoid the cold air stagnating in the body and affecting the circulation of qi and blood. Drink according to the needs at the time. There is no need to deliberately fill your stomach and make you bloated, or even nausea and vomiting. In the past, in order to encourage people to drink more water, it was emphasized that 500 ml of boiled water should be drunk before massage and another 500 ml of warm boiled water should be drunk after massage.

6. After taking cold medicine

Patients who take anti-cold medicines or anti-inflammatory analgesics containing antipyretic and analgesic ingredients may suffer from kidney damage if their condition requires large doses or long-term use. At this time, they should drink more water to "dilute" the toxicity. Therefore, you must drink plenty of water while taking the medicine. Not only should you take it with 200 ml of warm water, but you should also drink plenty of water at other times.

But it is wrong to take the medicine by just drinking two or three sips of water. The correct way is to take it with 200 ml of warm water, which is equivalent to drinking 1 cup of water.

7. After drinking carbonated drinks

Carbonated drinks contain a large amount of pigments, additives, preservatives and other substances. These ingredients require a large amount of water when metabolized in the body, so the more you drink carbonated drinks, the thirstier you will feel.

So after drinking carbonated drinks, you should also drink more water.

8. After taking a shower

When taking a shower, the body's pores expand and a large amount of water is lost, so many people feel thirsty after taking a shower.

Therefore, you should replenish water immediately after taking a bath.

If you are used to taking a bath, you should drink a large glass of water before taking a bath to avoid staying in the bathroom for too long and losing too much water, which may cause breathing difficulties and shock in mild cases.

9. After turning on the air conditioner

The air in an air-conditioned room is dry, which can easily cause the body to lose water, dry out the mucous membranes in the nasal cavity and other parts of the body, and even cause bronchitis. Therefore, if you stay in an air-conditioned room for more than half an hour, you must replenish water in time. You can drink boiled water, mineral water, lemon water, etc. The water temperature should be around 40℃.

10. After constipation

If feces stays in the large intestine for too long, the water it contains will be absorbed in large quantities, making it difficult to excrete feces. To have a smooth bowel movement, you need to drink more water so that there is sufficient water in the intestinal cavity to soften the stool.

It should be noted that when you are constipated, it is best to drink water in big gulps (i.e. drink your full mouthful) and swallow quickly, but not too quickly. This way the water can reach the colon as quickly as possible, while stimulating intestinal peristalsis, thereby allowing stool to be discharged from the body in time, achieving the purpose of effectively improving constipation.
