What should you pay attention to when you have high blood pressure

Hypertension is a common disease nowadays, especially among middle-aged and elderly people. Therefore, many children are very worried about their parents and actively look for ways to treat high blood pressure. However, this disease cannot be completely cured. You can only pay more attention to taking care of yourself in daily life. There are certain requirements in terms of diet and sleep. However, many people know very little about what they should pay attention to when it comes to high blood pressure.

When a family member is sick, nutritional supplements are necessary, but not many people know what specific supplements are needed. Especially for patients with hypertension, the dietary and other requirements are very high. The following is a relevant introduction.

1. Try to stick to your daily schedule. You should sleep no less than 7 to 8 hours a day. Do not substitute any form of activity for absolutely necessary bed rest. However, rest must be proportional to the workload.

2. Rest several times a day, either lying down or sitting with your legs slightly raised, for 15 to 20 minutes each time. Lying flat on the floor or a hardwood bed in a relaxed position can be very beneficial. For people who need to sit for long periods of time at work, they should stand up from their desk several times a day, each time for 3 to 5 minutes.

3. When you are mentally nervous, don't pace around the room. It is best to lie down for a while or simply sit with your legs slightly raised for 15 to 20 minutes.

4. People with normal or high blood pressure (especially those who sleep less at night) should raise the bed with their legs slightly by 7 to 10 cm when sleeping. This helps you fall asleep quickly and sleep soundly. Initially, there may be a rush of blood to the head and a sense of loss of sensation, but this soon passes. To alleviate this feeling, use a higher pillow. It is important to keep your legs and lower extremities slightly above the level of your heart. However, people with blood pressure below 100/60 should not do this.

5. In the morning, gradually move from lying to standing position. Relaxing morning exercises are always beneficial, but after getting up, do not increase your body's burden immediately, especially do not run.

6. In the morning when you are on an empty stomach, you must drink something liquid, such as a cup of herbal tea, juice, etc.

7. After working the night shift, lying down and resting is essential.

8. The number of patients with hypertension is getting younger and younger, which requires children to abide by their work and rest schedules. Children, especially young children, should sleep (lying down) for no less than 8-9 hours a day and night. They should be ready for bed by 8:15 to 8:30 p.m. A nap of one and a half to two hours can protect their cardiovascular system from excessive strain.

Through the introduction of the above content, we can understand that the most important thing for patients with hypertension is to eat some blood pressure-lowering foods. Also pay more attention to rest, avoid overwork and sitting for long periods of time. Knowing that caring for hypertensive patients is tiring, you will feel a little relieved, after all, hypertensive patients are relatively fragile.
