1. Wrong sleeping posture

2. Oral diseases

The temperature and humidity in the mouth are most suitable for the reproduction of bacteria. The accumulation of food residues or sugar substances in the gaps between teeth and on the tooth surfaces can easily lead to caries and periodontal disease. These adverse factors are stimulating and can cause drooling while sleeping. If you drool while sleeping, your drool has a salty taste, and your pillowcase is yellowish, it is probably due to poor oral hygiene. If there are ulcers in the mouth, the painful stimulation will promote saliva secretion and induce drooling. 3. Overexcitement

What to do when you drool while sleeping

First of all, you must correct your sleeping posture. Don’t sleep on the table or leaning against a chair as this will make you drool more easily. You should adjust to the correct sleeping position, lying flat on the bed or slightly on your right side.

It is best not to eat before going to bed. At the same time, you should brush your teeth or rinse your mouth, and use tools such as crimping wire to clean your mouth. It is recommended to rinse with mouthwash for one or two minutes after brushing your teeth at night, and make sure there is no sweet or salty taste in your mouth.

If the upper and lower teeth are not in the correct position, it may also cause drooling while sleeping. It is best to check whether your teeth are deformed. If so, have your teeth corrected as soon as possible.

There may be some problems with the spleen's function. You can try taking some Chinese medicine or food that has the function of strengthening the spleen, such as lotus seeds, corn, red dates, yam, honey, etc. Lotus seeds and red dates rice porridge is recommended, which has a good effect on strengthening the spleen.
