Is 38 degrees considered a fever?

If we measure our body temperature, is 38 degrees considered a fever? Especially when we are in the office and the air conditioner is on, we still won’t feel warm. So, when we get off work and go home, we measure our body temperature and find that it is 38 degrees. Is this considered a fever?

Generally speaking, is 38 degrees considered a fever? In the hospital, if you measure the patient's body temperature, the normal body temperature will be between 37 and 38 degrees, and it will remain at this level for a period of time, which is considered a mild fever. In case of a physical illness, if the temperature exceeds 38 degrees, it is considered a high fever.

Is 38 degrees considered a fever? However, for people whose body temperature rhythm changes greatly during the night sleep cycle, their body temperature may also reach 38 degrees. If the body temperature continues to be above 37.2, it is recommended that we take appropriate cooling measures or go to the hospital for professional support.

If the fever is over 38 degrees, you can cool down physically (ice pillow, heat dissipation patch, warm water wipe, etc.). For high fever, you can use antipyretics with few side effects, such as Bupleurum injection and a small amount of dexamethasone. For oral antipyretics, you can use paracetamol (acetaminophen tablets). There is no need to take compound acetaminophen tablets, as they have many side effects, and we must be aware of this knowledge.

We must understand that it is normal for people's body temperature to be between 36 and 37 degrees. If it exceeds 38 degrees, it is considered a fever. However, we cannot be sure so quickly. Once we find that the temperature is 38, we should see a doctor as soon as possible. Otherwise the consequences will be disastrous.
