What is the panda blood type

Do you know what panda blood type is? You must have heard of this blood type in daily life. Panda-type blood is a very rare blood type. We often see on TV that some people have lost too much blood and need a blood transfusion, but this person's blood type is very rare and few people can match them, which is what we call RH negative blood. The rarest of these is AB type RH negative blood.

As for what panda blood type is, I believe everyone should have some common knowledge about this. It is a very rare blood type. Generally, it is difficult for others to match their blood type, that is, Rh negative blood. People with Rh negative blood do not need to worry too much, as they are very healthy.

Introduction to Panda Blood

Rh negative blood type is a type of Rh blood group system. Most people know that there are four types of blood types, namely A, B, O, and AB, all of which belong to the ABO blood type system. In fact, there are more than four blood types. There are dozens of types or systems, which are huge and complex. Since the antigenicity of blood types other than A, B, O, and AB is generally not strong, clinical physicians believe that in addition to the above four blood types, the Rh blood type system is the most widely used and most important blood type in clinical practice.

Among the Chinese population, the Miao ethnic group has the highest proportion of Rh-negative blood, reaching 13%. The Rh(-) distribution of ethnic minorities such as the Uyghur in Xinjiang is 5%; the Mongolian people are 1%; the Han people account for a very small proportion, only 0.3%, which is a rare blood type. If the ABO and Rh blood type systems are considered at the same time, the chance of finding an AB type Rh(-) homotype person in the Han population is less than 0.3%, which is very rare.

Rh(-) is a recessive gene. When Rh(+) parents pass on the Rh(-) gene to their offspring, their offspring will be Rh(-). When one of the parents is Rh(-), the chance of their children being Rh(-) increases, and vice versa.

Whether they are Rh(-) or Rh(+), the only difference is the blood type, and they are all healthy people. However, the clinical significance of Rh(-) cannot be ignored when encountering special circumstances. For example, two consecutive pregnancies in which the mother and the baby have Rh blood type incompatibility may cause serious harm to the fetus. Another example is that when a patient with a history of blood transfusion, abortion, etc. is given Rh(+) blood again, a strong hemolytic transfusion reaction may occur.

Origin of the name: Rh blood type Rh is the first two letters of the foreign name of rhesus monkey (Rhesus Macacus). In 1940, when scientists such as Landsteiner were doing animal experiments, they discovered that Rh blood type antigens existed on the red blood cells of rhesus monkeys and most people, hence the name.

In my country, more than 99% of people with Rh blood type are Rh positive, so hemolytic reactions due to Rh blood type incompatibility during blood transfusion are rare. But less common does not mean non-existent. If a recipient with Rh-negative blood receives Rh-positive blood, an immune hemolytic reaction will occur. The correct approach should be that the blood type of the blood recipient and the blood donor should be the same, that is, both should have Rh negative blood type.

Now everyone should have a more comprehensive understanding of what panda blood type is. Rh negative blood is divided into four types, namely type A RH negative, type B RH negative, etc. In my country, RH negative blood type is very rare. Such people should pay more attention in normal times to avoid excessive blood loss caused by external and other factors.
