Treatment for hiccups

I believe that every friend has experienced the situation of being unable to stop hiccups, especially when eating fast or eating food that is too dry, hiccups are more likely to occur. Sometimes, drinking a few sips of water may be enough to solve the hiccups, but sometimes, even after trying many methods, you still can’t stop the hiccups. So, what is the specific treatment for hiccups?

Hiccups not only make people feel very uncomfortable, but may also affect their normal diet. When it comes to treatments for hiccups, there are actually many. In order to help you solve the problem of hiccups, here we will introduce you to the treatments for hiccups.

1. Distract attention and eliminate tension and adverse stimulation.

2. Take a deep breath first, then hold it for as long as possible, then exhale, and repeat several times.

3. Drink boiled water, especially slightly hot boiled water. Take a big sip and swallow it in several times.

4. Wash your hands, insert your index finger into your mouth, and gently stimulate your throat.

5. Put the mixed gas into a plastic bag and inhale it. The mixed gas contains 90% oxygen and 10% carbon dioxide.

6. Wash the raw leeks, squeeze out the juice and drink it orally.

7. Chew ginger slices.

8. Take 20 persimmon stalks (referring to the stalks of fresh persimmons or persimmon cakes), decoct them in water into 100 ml, and take orally in two doses, 50 ml each time. You can also add leek seeds when frying.

9. Swallowing vinegar method: Take a mouthful of rice vinegar and swallow it slowly in several times. Repeat 2-3 times.

10. Chew and swallow spicy food: use 1-3 cloves of garlic, or 1 scallion, or 1-3 chili peppers, chew them into pieces and swallow them slowly. The hiccups will stop in about 1-3 minutes.

11. Eating sugar: Use 1 spoon of white sugar, put it into your mouth and swallow it, do not wash it down with water.

12. The cow drinking method: swallow several sips of water in one breath.

13. Pharyngeal touch method: Use a sterilized cotton swab or clean chopsticks to lightly touch the patient's posterior pharyngeal wall 2-3 times to make him/her gagging, and then let him/her close his/her mouth and swallow his/her saliva. Next, touch the back wall of the throat to cause nausea and the hiccups will stop.

The above are all treatments for hiccups, which are some common folk remedies. You can try them to see if they are effective. Another way to treat hiccups is to let someone scare you secretly. This will stimulate your spirit and may cure your hiccups. But no matter what, in order to avoid hiccups, please pay attention when eating.
