Mouth ulcer and swollen face

Mouth ulcer and swollen face

Oral ulcers are mainly caused by damage to the mucosa inside the human oral cavity, so oral ulcers can cause patients to suffer from excruciating and sharp pain. However, most patients with oral ulcers will let them heal on their own, because oral ulcers are an oral problem that can be healed through the body's own repair function. But if oral ulcers develop to a serious level and cause facial swelling, how should they be treated?

Mouth ulcers

Oral ulcers, commonly known as "mouth sores", are a common ulcerative injury disease that occurs in the oral mucosa. They are more common in the inner lips, tongue, tongue ventral side, buccal mucosa, vestibule groove, soft palate and other parts. When oral ulcers occur, the pain is severe and there is obvious local burning pain. In severe cases, it will affect eating and speaking, causing great inconvenience to daily life. It may be complicated by bad breath, chronic pharyngitis, constipation, headache, nausea, irritability, fatigue, fever, swollen lymph nodes and other systemic symptoms.

Causes

The occurrence of oral ulcers is the result of the combined action of multiple factors, including local trauma, mental stress, food, drugs, malnutrition, changes in hormone levels and lack of vitamins or trace elements. For example, lack of trace elements such as zinc, iron, folic acid, vitamin B12 and malnutrition can reduce immune function and increase the likelihood of oral ulcers; bacteria such as Streptococcus sanguinis and Helicobacter pylori are also closely related to oral ulcers. Oral ulcers usually indicate that the body may have potential systemic diseases. Oral ulcers are related to gastric ulcers, duodenal ulcers, ulcerative colitis, hepatitis, women's menstruation, vitamin B absorption disorders, autonomic nervous system dysfunction, etc.

symptom

1. Oral ulcers appear as single or multiple round or oval ulcers of varying sizes, covered with grayish white or yellow pseudomembranes, with a central depression, clear borders, and red and slightly swollen surrounding mucosa.

2. In severe cases, it will also affect eating and speaking, and may be complicated by bad breath, chronic pharyngitis, constipation, headache, nausea, irritability, fatigue, fever, swollen lymph nodes and other systemic symptoms.

Treatment principles

1. Take Chinese patent medicine orally to dispel wind and heat, purge fire and relieve pain, and apply powder internally.

2. Adhere to the combination of systemic treatment and local treatment, the combination of Chinese and Western medicine treatment, and the combination of physiological and psychological treatment.

3. Oral ulcers are prone to recurring, so the principle of "combining maintenance and treatment" should be followed.
