For the Shanhaiguan area, its special snacks include Si Tiao steamed buns, Hun Guo, Huiji pastries, etc., mainly some desserts. 1. Shanhaiguan Hun Pot

Shanhaiguan Hunguo inherits the folk characteristics of Shanhaiguan hotpot. Using a traditional copper hot pot as the utensil, old chicken soup stewed with a secret ancestral recipe, special pickled sauerkraut, selected pork belly, meatballs, stewed meat, frozen tofu, and various seafood are put into the pot and stewed over charcoal fire, which is very distinctive. The characteristics are that the white meat is fat but not greasy, the meatballs are tender and smooth, the sauerkraut is tasty and refreshing, the seafood has a unique flavor, and the frozen tofu absorbs oil and is refreshing. You will never get tired of eating it and the aftertaste is long.

2. Four buns

When you come to Shanhaiguan, you must not miss the famous four-piece steamed buns. The fast food restaurant is named after the fact that it is located on Si Tiao Street in the ancient city of Shanhaiguan. It has a unique taste, is mellow but not thick, and is fat but not greasy. It is a well-known local fast food. You can taste it in the steamed bun shop on Shanhaiguan South Street in Qinhuangdao City.

3. Huiji Cake

Halal food was first established in 1945. It was named "Hui Ji" because the founder was a Hui Muslim and his surname was Hui. The raw materials are local mung beans and white sugar, prepared according to a secret recipe. Huiji pastries are oily but not greasy, soft, sweet and have a mellow taste. You can taste it at the Muslim Huiji Pastry Department at No. 22 Tianxin Hutong, Shanhaiguan, Qinhuangdao City.

4. Peanut Cake

Peanut cake is an ancient palace food that originated in the Song Dynasty and has been passed down for more than 600 years through the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties to this day. The peanut cake is very loose and crispy, sweet and refreshing, and melts in the mouth, leaving a long-lasting aftertaste. The finished product is light yellow in color, and is in the form of multiple layers of loose flakes. It tastes crispy, sweet and delicious. During the Qing Dynasty, Empress Dowager Cixi visited Shanhaiguan and praised the peanut cake after tasting it. From then on, Shanhaiguan Peanut Cake became famous all over the world.

5. Bo Luo Cake

The cakes are made from the leaves of the basil tree that grows around the Great Wall, with starch and three fresh ingredients added. The crust of the cake is slightly transparent and the taste is fresh and delicious. In ancient times, it was the military rations for the soldiers guarding the Great Wall. It is said that this food has spread to Japan.
