Can lymphoma be cured

Lymphoma brings a lot of fear to patients. In the process of treating lymphoma, many patients sometimes abuse drugs, which is not conducive to the treatment of lymphoma. The following small series introduces whether lymphoma can be cured?

Lymphoma is a disease with better treatment and better prognosis. The proportion of early treatment is considerable, but it also depends on the tissue type of the tumor, the pathological stage, the patient's physical condition, whether the treatment is appropriate, etc. Pathologically, lymphoma is divided into two categories: Hodgkin's lymphoma and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, which can be further subdivided according to cell size, shape and distribution.

In fact, malignant lymphoma is not an incurable disease. This is mainly due to radiotherapy and chemotherapy. These two methods are the main measures for the treatment of malignant lymphoma today, and the effect is remarkable. In particular, the treatment effect of Hodgkin's disease has made significant progress, and the 10-year survival rate has increased to more than 50%, and most of them may have been cured.

Most Hodgkin's disease can be cured with one or both of radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Radiation therapy alone can cure more than 90% of patients with stage I or II disease. Treatment only needs to be done on an outpatient basis and the course of treatment is about 4-5 weeks. The affected lymph nodes and surrounding lymph nodes.

Significantly swollen lymph nodes in the chest should be treated with chemotherapy before or after radiotherapy, and 85% of patients can be cured with this combination treatment.

Treatment for stage III Hodgkin's disease varies. If the patient is asymptomatic, radiation therapy alone can sometimes be used. -75% of patients are cured. Chemotherapy can increase the chance of cure to 75%-80%. If the patient has symptoms, chemotherapy or radiation therapy should be given. The cure rate for this type of patient is 70%-80%.

Combination chemotherapy is often used for patients in stage IV. Each chemotherapy cycle lasts for one month, and the total course of treatment is 6 months or more. There are other combination chemotherapy plans. Even at this late stage, more than 50% of patients can still be cured.
