Treatment of breast cancer

Treatment of breast cancer

Breast cancer is the most common malignant tumor in women. It is a systemic disease. Currently, the emphasis is on comprehensive local and systemic treatment. According to the pathological type, biological characteristics, regional lymph node metastasis, TNM staging and menopausal status of the tumor, comprehensive treatments such as surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, endocrine therapy and biological therapy are generally used. For clinical stage 0, I, II and III breast cancer, if there are no surgical contraindications, comprehensive treatment should be based on surgical treatment.

What to eat when white blood cell count is low during breast cancer chemotherapy

Chemotherapy for breast cancer can suppress the bone marrow, so it is easy to have a decrease in white blood cells after chemotherapy. Regular blood routine checks are required after chemotherapy. If the white blood cell count is only slightly reduced, you can take some drugs to increase white blood cells under the guidance of a doctor. In terms of diet, you need to pay attention to eating light food, avoid spicy, irritating and greasy food, keep warm, and avoid crowded places. If the white blood cell count drops significantly, the effect of diet therapy and oral medication is poor. At this time, you need to see a doctor in time and use granulocyte stimulating factor drugs to help stimulate the hematopoietic function of the bone marrow. Severe bone marrow suppression usually requires hospitalization, isolation, observation and symptomatic treatment.

What should you pay attention to in your diet after breast cancer surgery?

Breast cancer surgery does not require laparotomy and has no significant impact on the digestive system, so the dietary requirements are not very strict. Generally, you can gradually eat six hours after the surgery, gradually transitioning from a liquid diet, and try to eat some light and easily digestible food. You can eat small meals at the beginning, and you can eat a normal diet after two or three days. For the diet for breast cancer, it is mainly light, eat less spicy and irritating food, eat less greasy and pickled food, eat more fruits and vegetables, and maintain a regular schedule.
