What is the dietary care during chemotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma

Due to the hidden anatomical location of the nasopharynx, the early symptoms of nasopharyngeal carcinoma are atypical, and clinical diagnosis is easily delayed, so special vigilance should be taken. Common symptoms are as follows:

Nasal symptoms: In the early stages, there may be bloody nose or bloody nose blowing. Sometimes it will attract the patient's attention, and the continued growth of the tumor will block the nostrils, causing nasal congestion, starting with one side and then bilaterally.

Ear symptoms: Pharyngeal recess tumors can compress or block the pharyngeal opening of the Eustachian tube in the early stages, leading to tinnitus, ear closure, hearing loss, and tympanic effusion, which are easily misdiagnosed as secretory otitis media clinically.

Dietary care during chemotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma:

Compound Astragalus Porridge: This medicinal diet should be actively adopted by patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma undergoing chemotherapy, and it can play an ideal recovery effect. Ingredients: 30 grams of raw astragalus, 30 grams of raw coix seed, 15 grams of red beans, 9 grams of chicken gizzard lining, 2 grams of kumquat cake, and 30 grams of glutinous rice. Method: Wash raw astragalus, raw coix seed, red beans, glutinous rice, and chicken gizzard lining, dry and study finely. Put raw astragalus in a pot, add 1000 ml of water, simmer for 20 minutes, remove astragalus, add coix seed and red beans and cook for 30 minutes, then add glutinous rice and chicken gizzard lining, and cook into porridge. Twice a day, chew a kumquat cake after eating porridge. Efficacy: Suitable for nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients with damaged stomach qi, weak qi, and poor appetite after chemotherapy.

Recipe: 30g of yam, lotus seeds without core 30g, 30g of coix seeds. Method: Add appropriate amount of water, simmer on low heat, add a little sugar, take once a day, limit the amount, and take for 15 days.

Efficacy: It can be used to treat nasopharyngeal carcinoma of all stages with spleen deficiency, and has the effects of strengthening the spleen and replenishing Qi, clearing the heart and calming the mind.
