Is lymphoma hereditary? What is the cause?

Many diseases can be inherited. For lymphoma, many people worry whether it can be inherited. Can lymphoma be inherited? What is the reason?

In order to let everyone better understand whether lymphoma is hereditary, family inheritance may be caused by chromosomal aberration. Each cell of the normal human body has 46 chromosomes. Various carcinogenic factors can cause chromosomal cancer, making the number and shape of chromosomes different from normal cells. This chromosomal aberration is sometimes inherited by offspring, making the next generation likely to develop cancer.

People who have cancer do not actually have cancer, but their chances of developing cancer are greater than those of ordinary people. The constitution of this cancer only has certain internal causes. If the influence and role of external carcinogenic factors are added, cancer will occur. Some patients are diagnosed with lymphoma, which may be due to the existence of "genetic" factors.

It is necessary to consider that the human body has genetic factors and other internal factors for lymphoma, and lymphoma may also occur under the stimulation of external factors such as ionizing radiation and environmental pollution.

After understanding whether the relevant lymphoma can be inherited, let us understand the cause.

The cause of lymphoma is still unclear, but the viral etiology theory has attracted much attention. In 1964, Epstein isolated Epstein-Barr EB virus from Burkitt lymphoma tissue subculture in African children. This DNA herpes can cause human B lymphocytes to become malignant Burkitt lymphoma. Burkitt lymphoma has a clear local epidemic pattern. More than 80% of patients have significantly increased serum EB virus antibody titers, while only 14% of patients have non-Burkitt titers. The chance of Burkitt lymphoma is also significantly increased. Vice versa, EB virus may be the cause of Burkitt lymphoma.
