Is nasopharyngeal cancer contagious? What should I do?

For the treatment of nasopharyngeal cancer, measures should be taken in time to treat the disease and restore health. So, is nasopharyngeal cancer contagious? What should we do?

Is nasopharyngeal cancer contagious? Nasopharyngeal cancer itself is not a source of infection and is not contagious. However, according to research, most patients with nasopharyngeal cancer carry a virus called Epstein-Barr virus, commonly known as the kissing virus, which is an important killer that causes the high incidence of nasopharyngeal cancer. The Epstein-Barr virus is transmitted through saliva exchange, and kissing is the most common way of transmission. Other routes of transmission include sneezing, coughing, sharing tableware and blood transfusions. The infected person will have a headache, fever, enlarged liver, dehydration, and diarrhea. The symptoms generally last for 2 to 4 weeks, but those with poor immunity will have symptoms longer. This virus is more common in young people around 20 years old, so experts remind people not to kiss strangers to reduce the chance of nasopharyngeal cancer.

However, nasopharyngeal carcinoma is not contagious like other germs. It is just that the presence of Epstein-Barr virus can aggravate the induction of nasopharyngeal carcinoma, which does not fundamentally prove that nasopharyngeal carcinoma is contagious. So don't worry.

TCM can be used to treat nasopharyngeal carcinoma. TCM treatment can alleviate the side effects of radiotherapy and improve the patient's body constitution. TCM treatment of nasopharyngeal carcinoma always adheres to the treatment method that varies according to the person, time and individual. Its treatment of cancer can prolong the patient's survival, improve their quality of life, control the number of acute attacks, reduce pain, and most importantly, it can help some cancer patients survive with tumors.

From the above, we can see that nasopharyngeal cancer is not contagious, so patients do not need to worry too much, just take protective measures.
