The central glandular nodules of the prostate may be prostate cancer or adenoma inside the prostate. Generally, prostate cancer is more likely to occur in the peripheral zone, but not all prostate cancers occur in the peripheral zone. Sometimes the central zone and transition zone are invaded by the peripheral zone, which can cause internal nodules of the prostate. Further tests such as prostate-specific antigen test, prostate biopsy, and rectal examination are needed for comprehensive judgment. Prostate-specific antigen and rectal examination can be used to preliminarily rule out the presence of prostate cancer, and then further combined with prostate MRI to achieve imaging judgment, and finally prostate biopsy is performed to achieve the purpose of final diagnosis. Benign prostatic hyperplasia can also cause nodules in the central gland. This condition is called prostatic adenoma. It is caused by prostatic hyperplasia, which causes uneven growth of the gland and forms nodular changes. A puncture biopsy is required to distinguish it from prostate cancer. |
