What are the early and middle stage symptoms of nasopharyngeal cancer? What is the diet in the early and middle stages?

Nasopharyngeal cancer mostly occurs in middle-aged people, mainly in the top and side walls of the nasopharynx, and is often accompanied by symptoms such as nasal congestion, nasal bleeding, headache, and tinnitus.

1. Painless lumps in the neck In the early stage of the disease, lymph nodes will appear in the patient's neck, and lumps will gradually form in the middle stage. During this period, nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients may have one or more lumps of different sizes in the neck, which are caused by the metastasis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma to the cervical lymph nodes. They are hard to the touch, with a rough surface, no movement, and no adhesion to the skin.

2. Cranial nerve symptoms This is a symptom that needs to be treated in the middle stage of the disease, and the damage to health caused is particularly serious. When nasopharyngeal carcinoma invades the middle cranial fossa and compresses the adjacent tissues, a variety of cranial nerve symptoms will appear, such as blurred vision, diplopia, fixed eyeballs, and may also cause throat paralysis, dysphagia and sensory disorders, hoarseness, hemiplegia of the tongue, and even atrophy.

3. Unilateral headaches At each stage of the disease, the headache symptoms of NPC patients will have certain characteristics. In the middle stage of NPC, the patient's headache is mostly unilateral, and the pain may be distending or dull. This is because the tumor easily invades the brain or destroys the skull base bone.
