Does intestinal cancer often cause bloody stools?

Patients with colorectal cancer may experience blood in the stool, but not all patients will experience blood in the stool. Because each person's situation is different, the symptoms produced are also different. Colorectal cancer is a type of cancerous lesion that occurs in the colon or rectum. It is more common in middle-aged and elderly people. After the disease occurs, abdominal pain, blood in the stool, changes in bowel habits, and other phenomena will occur. It is necessary to be hospitalized for examination and treatment as soon as possible.

Common symptoms of bowel cancer:

1. Abdominal pain: Many patients with colorectal cancer experience abdominal pain as an early symptom. Regardless of whether cancer occurs in the left colon, right colon, or rectum, there will be symptoms of abdominal pain, but the feeling of abdominal pain varies from person to person.

2. Blood in the stool: Blood in the stool is also a common symptom of early colorectal cancer. Generally, when the amount of bleeding is large, the stool can be seen to be brown or jam-colored with the naked eye.

3. Changes in bowel habits: Most patients with colorectal cancer will experience changes in the frequency of bowel movements, which is mainly manifested as an increase in the number of bowel movements, but the amount of bowel movements is relatively small, and sometimes only some mucus or blood can be discharged.

The early symptoms of colorectal cancer are similar to those of common gastrointestinal diseases, so they are easily ignored, thus delaying the treatment of the disease. In daily life, you need to take good care of yourself and develop good eating and bowel habits. If you have abdominal pain for a long time, changes in bowel habits, or even blood in the stool, you must go to the hospital for examination as soon as possible, so that you can better detect the disease and strive to achieve early detection and early treatment.
