How should pulmonary edema in late-stage lung cancer be treated?

Lung effusion in the late stage of lung cancer is generally treated by paying attention to rest, adjusting diet, using drugs, etc. Patients are advised to actively cooperate to prevent the condition from continuing to worsen.

1. Take some rest:

After the tumor of patients with advanced lung cancer invades the pleura, it will affect the absorption of fluid and protein. At this time, fluid will accumulate and pulmonary edema will easily occur. At the same time, the patient's resistance is relatively low, so bed rest is required. It is recommended to ensure adequate sleep and avoid staying up late or strenuous exercise for a long time.

2. Adjust your diet:

Late-stage lung cancer may lead to malignant fluid. As the disease progresses, the patient will also suffer from malnutrition and hypoproteinemia. If the patient's blood protein content is low and the tissue osmotic pressure is lower than the blood, it will cause pulmonary edema and effusion. At this time, you need to adjust your diet and avoid eating spicy and irritating foods such as peppers, garlic, mustard, etc. You can eat high-protein foods appropriately, such as eggs, milk, lean meat, etc.

3. Application of drugs:

At the same time, lung cancer compresses lymph nodes, resulting in obstruction of lymphatic return and possible pulmonary edema. Patients need to use medication under the guidance of a doctor, such as cisplatin injection, afatinib maleate, cetuximab injection, etc.

In addition to the common treatment methods mentioned above, it can also be performed through thoracentesis, pleural fiber plate stripping, bilateral lobectomy and other surgeries. It needs to be performed by professional doctors.
