Symptoms of Nasopharyngeal Cancer:

In the early stages of nasopharyngeal carcinoma, only a few cells mutate, which does not affect the functions of surrounding tissues and important organs of the human body, so there may be no symptoms. As the disease progresses, when it enters the advanced or late stage, patients will experience nasal congestion, nasal bleeding, tinnitus, neck lumps and distant metastasis symptoms, as follows:

1. Nasal congestion

As the tumor grows, it blocks the patient's nostrils, causing nasal congestion, which usually starts on one side and gradually develops into bilateral nasal congestion.

2. Bloody nasal discharge

Some patients may have a bloody nose or even nosebleed when they forcefully suck nasal or nasopharyngeal secretions.

3. Tinnitus

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma occurs in the pharyngeal recess, which can cause compression and obstruction of the pharyngeal opening of the Eustachian tube, thereby causing tinnitus.

4. Neck lumps

Most patients have a neck mass at diagnosis, most of which are painless. As the disease progresses, the mass can progressively increase in size, become less hard and less mobile, and can gradually develop from a unilateral mass to a bilateral mass.

5. Symptoms of distant metastasis

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma can metastasize to bones, liver, lungs and other parts of the body. Metastatic lesions have an impact on the corresponding metastatic sites, which can cause symptoms such as bone pain, cough, and abdominal pain.
