What are the symptoms of stage III nasopharyngeal carcinoma

What are the symptoms of stage III nasopharyngeal carcinoma

The symptoms of stage III nasopharyngeal carcinoma include painless neck mass, cranial and cerebral symptoms, unilateral headache, etc.

1. Painless lump in the neck:

The patient has lymph nodes in the neck, and lumps will gradually form in the third stage. During this period, patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma may develop one or several lumps of different sizes in the neck. Nasopharyngeal carcinoma metastasizes to the cervical lymph nodes, which are hard to the touch, have a rough surface, are inactive, and have no adhesion to the skin.

2. Cerebral symptoms:

This is a symptom that patients in stage III need to focus on, and the health damage is particularly serious. Nasopharyngeal carcinoma invades the middle cranial fossa and compresses the adjacent tissues, which will cause a variety of cranial nerve symptoms, such as blurred vision, diplopia, fixed eyeballs, etc., and can cause paralysis, dysphagia and sensory disorders, and affect hemiplegia or even atrophy of the tongue.

3. Unilateral headache:

At each stage of the disease, the patient's headache symptoms have certain characteristics. The headache of patients with mid-stage nasopharyngeal carcinoma is mostly unilateral, and the pain can be swollen and dull, which is caused by the tumor easily invading the skull or destroying the skull base bone.

In addition to the above symptoms, stage III nasopharyngeal carcinoma also includes bloody retraction or bloody nose, which requires timely treatment.
