Will urticaria cause skin peeling?

Urticaria is a skin disease. Suffering from urticaria will bring a lot of pain to patients, and will affect their daily life and work. There are many causes of urticaria, but no matter what causes urticaria, it must be actively treated. Urticaria is easy to recur, and it requires patience to treat it. Some people say that urticaria will cause peeling, so will urticaria cause peeling?

Will urticaria cause peeling?

It is normal to have peeling after urticaria treatment. If you use some topical medications to treat urticaria, it may cause peeling. Since peeling is caused by dry skin after urticaria treatment, you should supplement vitamins, pay attention to hygiene, and do not use alkaline lotions to take a bath.

The dangers of urticaria

1. Induce other diseases: If urticaria is accompanied by gastrointestinal symptoms, it will cause gastrointestinal functional diseases such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal pain.

2. Impact on life: If urticaria is not cured in time, it can last for months or even years. The itching will worsen in the morning or before going to bed, affecting a person's normal life and mental state.

3. Endangering life and health: If urticaria occurs in the respiratory tract, such as the larynx and bronchi, it will cause laryngeal edema, a feeling of throat obstruction, chest tightness, and difficulty breathing. In severe cases, it may lead to suffocation and death of the patient. In severe cases, it may be accompanied by symptoms of anaphylactic shock such as palpitations, irritability, nausea, vomiting, and even low blood pressure, which may endanger life safety.

Types of urticaria:

1. Chronic urticaria: The systemic symptoms are generally mild, but the wheals may occur more or less frequently and recur repeatedly, sometimes lasting for months or even years.

2. Acute urticaria: The onset is rapid, with severe itching, and red wheals of varying sizes soon appear. This rash comes and goes quickly and can occur several times a day. Severe cases may be accompanied by symptoms such as palpitations, irritability, nausea, and vomiting.

3. Cholesterol urticaria: It is common in young people. It occurs when exercise, heat, etc. increase the temperature deep in the body, prompting acetylcholine to act on mast cells. The wheal appears within minutes after being stimulated, and may disappear within half an hour to an hour, with severe itching.

4. Artificial urticaria: also known as skin scratching. After scratching the skin with your hands or scratching the skin with a blunt object, the skin will be raised along the scratches, accompanied by itching symptoms.

How to prevent urticaria?

For urticaria, whether from the perspective of prevention or treatment, finding out the causative factors is the key. Since acute urticaria has a rapid onset and a short course, the cause can often be found and the causative factors can be removed. It can often be cured quickly after treatment. However, for chronic urticaria, since the cause is unknown, it cannot be prevented and treated in a targeted manner, and thus the therapeutic effect is not ideal.

Try to identify the cause of the disease and eliminate it. For example, be careful not to inhale pollen, animal dander, feathers, dust, castor powder, avoid contact with allergens, and prohibit or abstain from taking certain medications or foods that the body is allergic to. If the symptoms relapse due to hot or cold stimulation, you should not avoid them excessively. Instead, you should gradually introduce them and gradually extend the time of hot or cold stimulation in order to adapt to them.

Actively treat primary diseases, such as acute tonsillitis, cholecystitis, viral hepatitis, appendicitis, intestinal ascariasis, etc., to eliminate the source of the disease.
