Is fibroma a malignant tumor?

Fibroids are not malignant tumors, but are generally benign tumors composed of fibers or connective tissue. Patients are advised to seek medical attention in a timely manner and receive targeted treatment under the guidance of a physician.

Fibroids are mainly derived from fibrous connective tissue and can occur in various parts of the body, including subcutaneous, breast, retroperitoneal, etc. Although fibroids may look similar to malignant tumors histologically, fibroid cells do not spread or metastasize, but are confined to the site where they are located. Unlike malignant tumors, fibroids do not continue to grow and destroy surrounding tissues, nor do they threaten the patient's life.

The occurrence of fibroids may be related to the quantity and quality of estrogen receptors contained in fibroblasts. Fibroids usually form hard nodules locally, grow slowly, and most patients do not have obvious discomfort symptoms. If the fibroids do not affect the appearance or cause discomfort, they may not even need to be treated, just observe them regularly. However, if treatment is required, minimally invasive excision is a common method, and a biopsy is usually required after surgery to ensure that there is no malignant tumor.

Patients with fibroids should maintain a balanced diet, eat more vegetables, fruits and whole grains rich in fiber, such as broccoli, spinach, apples, bananas, brown rice, oats, etc., and avoid excessive intake of high-fat, high-sugar and high-salt foods, such as mustard tuber, bacon, chocolate, cake, fried meat, fried dough sticks, etc. At the same time, moderate intake of foods containing high-quality protein such as fish, lean meat and beans can help maintain normal body functions.
