Symptoms of nasopharyngeal carcinoma stage 1, 2 and 3

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is a malignant tumor that usually occurs in the nasopharynx. The symptoms vary at different stages. You should go to a regular hospital for treatment in a timely manner.

1. Stage I symptoms: may cause abnormalities in the nose. In a small number of patients, blood may appear in the nasal discharge and the lymph nodes may become enlarged.

2. Stage II symptoms: As cancer cells gradually spread, patients may experience persistent nasal congestion, and in severe cases, they may be unable to breathe, and their hearing may gradually decrease. As the tumor grows, it will compress the surrounding tissues, and patients may experience headaches.

3. Stage III symptoms: The symptoms of stage III nasopharyngeal cancer are more severe, and the lymph nodes in the neck will be significantly enlarged and hard to the touch. When nasopharyngeal cancer invades the middle cranial fossa and compresses the adjacent tissues, a variety of cranial nerve symptoms will occur, such as blurred vision, diplopia, and fixed eyeballs, which can cause paralysis, dysphagia, and sensory disorders, affecting hemiplegia and even atrophy of the tongue.

It is necessary to go to a regular hospital for treatment in time. In the early stage, it can be treated by surgical resection. After surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy are also needed to assist in the treatment, which can inhibit the spread of cancer cells in the body. Maintaining good living habits and eating habits, avoiding smoking and alcoholism, can also help prevent the occurrence of nasopharyngeal cancer.
