Can bile duct cancer be completely cured

Can bile duct cancer be completely cured

Whether bile duct cancer can be completely cured depends on whether it is diagnosed in time, clinical type, specific pathological characteristics and whether appropriate treatment methods are taken in time. It cannot be generalized. Choosing the right treatment method is of great clinical significance for the treatment of bile duct cancer patients. Let's learn whether bile duct cancer can be completely cured.

Data show that scientific symptomatic treatment methods can increase the three-year survival rate of patients with early and intermediate bile duct cancer from 22% to 76%. Only early detection and early treatment can achieve satisfactory treatment results.

After diagnosis and treatment, as long as the original symptoms and tumors disappear, it can be defined as clinical recovery. According to clinical practice and follow-up observation, many cancer patients have indeed been cured. If there is no recurrence of cancer after 5 years of treatment, it is possible to be permanently cured. Because only a few percent of these patients will have problems in the future.

Literature reports that the survival time of upper, middle and lower bile duct cancers is (8.75±6.31), (10.31±8.01) and (14.48±12.95) months respectively. The survival time of upper bile duct cancer is the shortest, while that of lower bile duct cancer is the longest. The survival time of invasive, poorly differentiated bile duct cancer with lymph node metastasis and liver metastasis is significantly shortened, indicating a poor prognosis. The prognosis of extrahepatic bile duct cancer that is papillary, moderately or highly differentiated, without lymph node metastasis and liver metastasis is relatively good. The prognosis of different treatment methods is compared, and surgical resection is the best, which is significantly better than simple jaundice reduction surgery. For patients with extrahepatic bile duct cancer who have the conditions, radical resection should be performed as early as possible. Although surgical resection can achieve short-term efficacy, the long-term effect is still not satisfactory, and the local recurrence rate is very high. Therefore, new breakthroughs are needed to break away from the current situation and make progress.

According to actual reports, if the treatment of bile duct cancer by traditional Chinese medicine is effective, there are generally few side effects of Western medicine. There are already cases of bile duct cancer being cured by traditional Chinese medicine.

Therefore, patients with bile duct cancer must not lose confidence. It is crucial to seek medical treatment in time and choose the correct and appropriate treatment method.
