Cervical cancer is a malignant tumor that occurs in the cervix of the uterus. Abnormal manifestations can be found during color Doppler ultrasound examinations, such as no echo, low echo, or mixed masses. Since the probe frequencies used during color Doppler ultrasound examinations are different, the results are also different. 1. No echo 1. Intrauterine pyometra: If the intrauterine pyometra is caused by benign lesions, there will be multiple anechoic areas in the cervix, and it will also be accompanied by symptoms such as lower abdominal pain and increased vaginal discharge. 2. Gestational trophoblastic disease: When the patient has conditions such as hydatidiform mole, color Doppler ultrasound examination will show uneven thickening of the cervical endometrium, and there will be bleeding in the hyperplastic area, thus forming an echo-free change. 3. Ovarian chocolate cyst: If a woman suffers from chocolate cyst, color ultrasound examination will show single or multiple echo-free cysts, and when the cyst is large, it may protrude into the pelvic cavity. 4. Other situations: Some women may undergo color Doppler ultrasound examinations after ovulation, and a small amount of luteal fluid retention may be seen on the surface of the cervix. This will appear as an echo-free state, which is a normal physiological phenomenon and there is no need to worry too much. 2. Low echo 1. Cervical polyps: Usually, chronic cervicitis can easily lead to hyperplasia of cervical mucosal tissue, and the hyperplastic part is brittle and easily ruptures and bleeds when stimulated, and even protrudes toward the external cervical opening to form growths, namely cervical polyps. Generally, low echoes can be found through color Doppler ultrasound examination, and surgical excision is required after diagnosis. 2. Cervical fibroids: If a woman has cervical fibroids, a low-echo nodule will appear in the cervix during color Doppler ultrasound examination, accompanied by symptoms such as increased vaginal discharge and soreness and discomfort in the lumbar region. 3. Mixed masses If a woman has cervical adenocarcinoma, a color Doppler ultrasound examination will reveal erosion-like ulcers on the surface of the cervix, along with a large number of small dot-like blood flow signals. This is related to the necrosis of cancer cells in the early stages of cancer, so it is recommended to make a prompt and clear diagnosis and give appropriate treatment. In addition, if a woman has cervical cancer, the color Doppler ultrasound examination will show that the cervix is enlarged in appearance, and the internal echo is heterogeneous, showing a state of high and low alternating disorderly distribution, and sometimes accompanied by pelvic wall infiltration and abdominal implant metastasis. For such cases, further relevant examinations are needed to clarify the diagnosis, and then choose the appropriate treatment method according to the specific condition, such as surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, etc. |
