Can milk be boiled

Milk is a very rich drink. It is rich in various proteins, fats, lactose and other nutrients needed by the human body. It is very fresh and the calcium content in milk is still very high. Many babies who do not have enough breast milk and friends who are growing up can drink milk appropriately to increase their body energy. But will boiling milk cause damage and impact to the milk itself?

Sterilized milk should not be boiled before drinking (unsterilized milk needs to be boiled before drinking)

Milk is a very nutritious dairy product that contains various nutrients such as proteins, fats, lactose, etc. needed by the human body. What is not well known is that the calcium content in cow's milk is four times that of human milk. For babies who do not have enough breast milk, milk is the most ideal supplementary food. It is also suitable for pregnant women and growing and developing teenagers.

Recently, researchers have discovered that one of the causes of hypertension and myopia is insufficient calcium intake in the human body. Therefore, drinking calcium-rich milk regularly can help treat hypertension and improve vision.

However, in order to sterilize milk, we usually like to boil it before drinking it. Now, scholars such as C. Egan, a food expert at Desi University in South Africa, have discovered through experiments that when milk is boiled, the calcium component in it will form more insoluble calcium salts, which are difficult to absorb and affect the nutritional content.

This is because the rich calcium in fresh milk combines with casein electrostatically to form casein calcium that can be absorbed by the human body. Through animal experiments, scholars determined the casein calcium content in boiled milk and warm milk without boiling it. The results showed that the casein calcium content in boiled milk was 20% less than that in non-boiled milk.

It turns out that after boiling milk, the properties of some casein calcium molecules change, reducing their solubility and making them difficult to absorb, so milk should not be boiled before drinking.

In fact, the fresh milk sold on the market has been processed into sterilized milk, especially the milk in plastic bags that is currently being promoted. It only needs to be warmed up with hot water, which makes it convenient to drink and preserves its nutritional value.
