What medicines can't be taken for thyroid cancer

Thyroid cancer is a malignant tumor that originates from the thyroid follicular epithelium or parafollicular cells. It is also the most common malignant tumor of the head and neck. If a patient has thyroid cancer, he or she needs to follow the doctor's instructions and use medications with caution to avoid blind use and cause adverse effects. It is usually not recommended to take hormone drugs, anti-thyroid drugs, anti-metabolic drugs, liver-protecting drugs, etc.

1. Hormone drugs: Common ones include prednisone acetate tablets, dexamethasone tablets, etc. These drugs may cause hormone disorders in the body, thereby aggravating the condition of thyroid cancer patients, so they are not recommended for patients;

2. Anti-thyroid drugs: Common ones include propylthiouracil tablets, methimazole tablets, etc. These drugs will inhibit the synthesis and secretion of thyroid hormones, thereby aggravating the condition of thyroid cancer, so they are not recommended;

3. Anti-metabolism drugs: such as compound iodine solution, methylthiopurine tablets, etc., because they contain thiourea substances, they may cause hypothyroidism after use, thereby aggravating the condition of thyroid cancer patients, so they are usually not recommended;

4. Liver-protecting drugs: such as compound glycyrrhizic acid tablets, silybin capsules, etc. Since these drugs contain certain hepatotoxic substances, they may aggravate liver damage after use, so they are usually not recommended.

For thyroid cancer patients, they should also avoid spicy, cold, greasy and other irritating foods, as well as foods that easily cause allergic reactions. In daily life, they should also strengthen their diet and supplement nutrients such as vitamins. They can eat more fresh vegetables and fruits to supplement the nutrients needed by the body, and can also appropriately supplement protein-rich foods such as milk and eggs. In addition, they should maintain a good attitude, pay attention to rest, avoid bad habits such as staying up late, and regularly check their thyroid function.
