How much is the TSH controlled in a half-resection of thyroid cancer

The TSH value after hemisection of thyroid cancer is usually controlled below 4-6mU/L. TSH is the abbreviation of thyroid stimulating hormone, which is a specific indicator for diagnosing hyperthyroidism. Hemisection of thyroid cancer is to remove one lobe of the patient's gland and only retain the contralateral lobe. It is an effective method for treating thyroid cancer to remove both lobes. After hemisection of thyroid cancer, the level of TSH needs to be monitored, and the dosage of thyroxine tablets needs to be adjusted according to the changes in TSH levels.

1. 4 weeks after surgery: For patients who have undergone the first surgery and have no residual lesions, thyroxine tablets can be discontinued 4 weeks after surgery, and levothyroxine sodium tablets can be used for replacement therapy. If the patient's wound recovers well, there are no abnormal bleeding, infection and other symptoms, and the TSH level is within the normal range, the dosage can be gradually reduced under the guidance of a doctor;

2. 6 weeks after surgery: Thyroxine tablets should be gradually discontinued under the guidance of a doctor, and levothyroxine sodium tablets should be used for replacement therapy. At this time, the patient can be tested. If the TSH level is 4-6mU/L and the wound has fully recovered, the medication can be used normally;

3. 7 weeks after surgery: Stop using the product under the guidance of a doctor and check TSH levels regularly. If the wound becomes infected, bleeding, or the TSH level rises, go to the hospital in time and adjust the dosage according to the doctor's examination;

4. Postoperative follow-up: According to the doctor's requirements, you should go to the hospital for follow-up on time, and undergo radionuclide examination and ultrasound examination to observe the recovery. If the recovery is good, it means that the patient has returned to normal. If the thyroid function is not tested regularly, it may cause the patient to develop hypothyroidism. At this time, long-term medication treatment is required according to the doctor's advice.

Patients should take more rest in their daily life, avoid fatigue and heavy physical labor, eat less spicy and irritating food, and avoid bad habits such as staying up late, smoking, and drinking.
