Liver cancer prevention methods

As the age of liver cancer onset is getting younger, patients with liver disease over 30 years old should have regular checkups to prevent liver cancer. Most cases detected in liver cancer screening are early-stage liver cancer with a small tumor size, which can generally be removed locally. Since the resected liver part is small, it is more tolerable even for patients with a certain degree of cirrhosis.

Patients with hepatitis B virus infection and hepatitis C virus infection should strengthen liver cancer prevention. In my country, 95% of liver cancer patients have a background of hepatitis B virus infection, and 10% have a background of hepatitis C infection. Among them, a small number of patients have overlapping infections of hepatitis B and hepatitis C.

The 5-year survival rate of patients who undergo radical surgical resection of liver cancer can reach 66%, but the probability of recurrence is still very high, so these patients should have regular checkups.

In my country, the male to female ratio of liver cancer patients is 4 to 1, which shows that liver cancer poses a greater threat to male patients. Therefore, people who meet the above high-risk factors should undergo regular physical examinations to achieve early diagnosis and early treatment.

Main hazards

Acute abdomen is a common hazard of liver cancer. Rupture of cancerous nodules usually causes pain in the liver area. During physical examination, there is obvious tenderness in the liver area, which is a symptom of liver capsule irritation. After the rupture of cancerous nodules, some patients experience acute abdominal pain accompanied by peritoneal irritation symptoms, which can be easily misdiagnosed as acute peritonitis. Abdominal pain caused by rupture of cancerous nodules is usually accompanied by a drop in blood pressure or even shock, which is different from general acute peritonitis.

The incidence of ruptured hemorrhage of liver cancer nodules is very low. Necrosis and liquefaction of primary liver cancer tissue can cause spontaneous rupture or rupture due to external force. If it is confined to the subcapsular membrane, there may be sudden pain and rapid enlargement of the liver; if it ruptures into the abdominal cavity, it may cause acute abdominal pain and peritoneal irritation. In severe cases, it may cause hemorrhagic shock or death. Patients with mild primary liver cancer will stop bleeding after a few days and the pain will gradually subside.

How to care

Balanced diet: Liver cancer patients consume a lot of energy, so it is very important to ensure adequate nutrition supply. The way to measure whether nutrition is adequate is to measure weight. To maintain a normal weight, it is necessary to maintain a reasonable and balanced diet and eat more vegetables.

Avoid high fat: Foods with too much fat will affect or even aggravate the condition, so controlling fat intake can relieve the patient's symptoms such as abdominal distension, nausea and vomiting; because liver cancer patients have poor appetite, it is necessary to increase the calories of the diet and ensure the easy absorption of food. Patients can eat more foods rich in high-quality protein.

Vitamin supplementation: Vitamins have a certain auxiliary effect on anti-cancer, so patients can eat more fresh vegetables and fruits containing vitamins. (Reference website: Feihua Health Network)
