How to care for lung cancer patients? 5 ways to care for lung cancer patients

What kind of care should we provide to patients with lung cancer so that they can improve their quality of life in daily life? First of all, patients with lung cancer must receive treatment for the disease. If they do not receive treatment, they will show various clinical manifestations, which will aggravate the suffering of patients in treatment.

1. Pain care: Give analgesics as directed by the doctor and perform various nursing operations within 20 to 30 minutes of administration.

2. Nursing of closed pleural drainage After lung resection, closed pleural drainage is routinely placed. Except for the chest drainage tube after pneumonectomy, which is clamped and opened for a short time as needed, routine nursing is followed after other surgeries.

3. Posture: The patient should lie flat before waking up from anesthesia. After waking up from anesthesia, if the vital signs are stable, the patient can take a semi-recumbent position. After lobectomy, the patient can take a complete lateral position. However, patients with severe conditions and poor respiratory function should avoid lying on the healthy side to prevent the healthy lung from being compressed and restricting its ventilation. After complete pneumonectomy, the patient is routinely placed in a supine position or a 1/4 lateral position.

4. Fluid replacement and diet After lung resection, the amount and speed of infusion should be strictly controlled to prevent pulmonary edema. After total lung resection, sodium salt infusion should be limited, the amount of fluid replacement should be within 2000ML/D, and the drip rate should be 20-30 drops/minute. 4-6 hours after the endotracheal tube is removed, if there are no contraindications, water can be drunk, and liquid and semi-liquid food can be gradually eaten until normal food.

5. Activities and Exercises: If the condition permits, the patient can get out of bed and move around on the first day after surgery. After waking up from general anesthesia, the patient will be helped to perform light activities of the arms, trunk and limbs.

6. Strengthen psychological care and enhance patients' confidence in overcoming the disease.

In fact, in most cases, the main determining factor for lung cancer patients is whether they can actively cooperate with our treatment. If lung cancer patients cannot actively cooperate with our treatment, it will prolong our treatment time and reduce the effectiveness of our treatment of lung cancer. In addition, lung cancer patients may also have increased clinical symptoms.
