Liver cancer refers to a malignant tumor that occurs in the liver or starts from the liver. It is the sixth most common cancer in the world and the second most deadly cancer in Asia. The onset of liver cancer is relatively hidden, and there are generally no symptoms in the early stages. When patients show obvious clinical symptoms, the disease is often in the middle or late stages. Therefore, in daily life, we must prevent liver cancer from many aspects, especially pay attention to diet. Some of the foods we usually eat may be the catalyst for liver cancer. Foods that may cause liver cancer 1. Animal and vegetable oils that have a rancid smell should not be consumed Rancid oils contain a chemical component that can cause the structure of proteins to mutate, causing cells with mutated proteins to lose their normal functions and transform into early cancer cells. In addition, the replication of acids in some chemical components accelerates the aging process. Therefore, animal and vegetable oils should not be stored for too long. If they are found to have a rancid smell, they should not be consumed. Otherwise, not only will the taste be bad, but more importantly, it will cause liver cancer. 2. Moldy food Aflatoxin B in moldy food is the most carcinogenic substance in life. Moldy rice, corn, feed, etc. all contain this carcinogen. Long-term consumption of food containing this toxin can induce liver cancer. Therefore, once food is moldy, it should be discarded immediately, especially soybeans, peanuts, sweet potatoes, sugar cane, etc., which should never be eaten. Complications of liver cancer 1. Gastrointestinal bleeding Most cases are caused by portal hypertension due to liver cirrhosis or cancer thrombus, which causes esophageal varicose veins to rupture and bleed. Patients often die from hemorrhagic shock or induced hepatic encephalopathy. In addition, patients with advanced liver cancer may also suffer from extensive bleeding due to gastrointestinal mucosal erosion, ulcers and coagulation disorders. 2. Hepatic coma It occurs in the terminal stage of liver cancer. Mild symptoms include abnormal behavior, such as sleep reversal (sleeping during the day and being restless at night), urinating at random, etc. Further development may lead to irritability and finally coma. Hepatic coma is often induced by upper gastrointestinal bleeding, or by eating a large amount of high-protein food, etc., or it may occur without obvious causes. 3. Hepatic encephalopathy In the late stage of the disease, this is also a common complication of liver cancer. The main reason is that the tumor seriously damages the liver or cirrhosis causes destruction of the liver parenchyma, which is also an important cause of death. |
