What are the symptoms of advanced primary liver cancer? Four common symptoms of advanced primary liver cancer

If we talk about liver cancer, many people are familiar with it, but when it comes to primary liver cancer, I believe many people don’t know much about it. In fact, primary liver cancer is very common. Everyone must understand the symptoms of the disease so that they can detect the disease early and treat it early.

1. Hepatomegaly: Pain in the liver area is often the main complaint of patients with liver cancer. It is often intermittent or persistent dull pain or distending pain, which is caused by the rapid enlargement of the tumor that presses against the liver capsule.

Progressive enlargement and tenderness of the liver, hard texture, irregular edges, and nodular surface are the most characteristic common signs of liver cancer, which can often be felt by the patient himself and lead to medical treatment. If the tumor is located in the diaphragmatic surface of the liver, it can cause the diaphragm to rise, the percussion dullness area of the upper and lower borders of the liver to widen, and it may not be palpable under the ribs. Sometimes friction sounds or vascular murmurs can be heard in the liver area.

2. Jaundice: Extensive infiltration of liver cells by cancer can cause cellular jaundice; compression of the bile duct by cancer mass or blockage of the bile duct by cancer tissue shedding can cause obstructive jaundice, which is progressive and worsens. Jaundice in cholangiocarcinoma appears early and is severe.

3. Symptoms of liver cirrhosis: Most hepatocellular carcinomas are complicated by liver cirrhosis, so they often present with clinical manifestations of portal hypertension, such as splenomegaly, establishment of collateral circulation, and ascites. In particular, metastatic tumor thrombi can aggravate portal vein obstruction, making symptoms such as ascites more obvious, and the amount of ascites increases in a short period of time, presenting as transudate or bloody ascites.

4. Primary liver cancer often metastasizes to distant sites in the late stage. Lung metastasis is the most common, manifested as persistent cough, hemoptysis, cancerous pleural effusion, and even pulmonary infarction. Other metastases to the bones, spine, and brain have corresponding symptoms.

The symptoms of primary liver cancer are generally quite obvious. If you can actively treat the disease, primary liver cancer can also be controlled. After contracting the disease, the most important thing is to grasp the best treatment time and not to cause the disease to worsen due to your own neglect.
