How to take care of lung cancer during radiotherapy? Share common knowledge about lung cancer care during radiotherapy

Radiotherapy is a way to treat lung cancer, but it should be noted that radiotherapy may cause related complications. Generally, radiotherapy is not used alone, but mainly as an auxiliary treatment measure. However, it should be noted that after radiotherapy, you must pay attention to various aspects of care. The following is an introduction to this aspect:

Diet care

Radiotherapy patients often have malnutrition, poor appetite, weight loss, low immune function, etc. In addition to fluid replacement, nutrition should be increased, and patients should be given food that suits their taste and a high-nutrition, easily digestible diet. Eat more fresh vegetables, beans, eggs, and avoid irritating foods.

Body Care

Hair loss, local itching, pigmentation, etc. may occur 3 to 4 weeks after radiotherapy. Advise patients to keep the skin in the irradiation field clean and dry, check whether the irradiation field markings are clear, do not wipe with alkaline soap or rough towels, avoid hot and cold stimulation, prevent sun exposure, scratching, etc. Pay attention to observe whether the patient has muscle atrophy, regularly move limbs, turn over and rub the back regularly, and massage the pressure parts and bone protrusions at any time to prevent the occurrence of bedsores.

Psychological care

Psychology is the most important aspect that enables radiotherapy to be effective. A patient with positive mental health may achieve greater therapeutic effects in a short period of time, while a patient who suffers from self-pity may die in depression.

The digestive system of patients with early and middle stage lung cancer is generally relatively sound. Therefore, this can be said to be a key care and health care measure for lung cancer patients. Adequately replenishing the body's nutrition and improving the patient's body immunity can prevent and control the metastasis and spread of lung cancer to a certain extent.
