Liver cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors in my country and the second most common cancer killer in my country. It is common in middle-aged men. Due to its high malignancy and rapid progression, patients generally do not feel any discomfort in the early stages. Once symptoms appear and they seek medical treatment, it is often in the middle or late stages. Therefore, it is difficult to treat and has poor efficacy. Generally, the survival time after onset is only 6 months. It is known as the "king of cancers."

In my country, 110,000 people die of liver cancer every year, including 80,000 men and 30,000 women, accounting for 45% of the world's liver cancer deaths. As the most common malignant tumor, liver cancer has a mortality rate second only to stomach cancer, with at least 120,000 people dying of liver cancer every year in China. Liver cancer deaths in China account for 44% of the world's total liver cancer deaths.

Incidence rate: The incidence rate of high-risk subjects is 11 times higher than that of ordinary people. A six-year follow-up survey of 18,816 high-risk liver cancer people in Shanghai (those aged 35 to 59 with a history of chronic hepatitis or positive hepatitis B antigen antibodies) found that the incidence rate of liver cancer in these high-risk subjects was 11 times higher than the total incidence rate in the city. However, these high-risk groups can actually avoid liver cancer: as long as these people receive an alpha-fetoprotein test and a B-ultrasound examination every six months, liver cancer can be detected in its early stages, and nearly half of the patients can undergo surgical resection.

How to care for patients with liver cancer

Measure 1: Diet care

Through years of clinical observation, it is found that this disease can consume a large amount of nutrients in the patient's body. Especially during various treatments, proper dietary care is a necessary condition to ensure the smooth progress of treatment. Ordinary rice, soft rice, semi-liquid and liquid diets should be provided according to the condition and digestion and absorption capacity.

Measure 2: Pain care

Due to the different causes of the disease and the patient's physical condition, the treatment methods are also different. When the patient is overly nervous and anxious, the pain is often aggravated. Therefore, the effect of pain relief should be achieved through explanation and other methods.

Measure 3: Psychological care

In most cases, the disease can cause patients to have certain psychological pressure, leading to worsening of the condition. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen psychological care, give patients psychological comfort, help them build positive emotions, eliminate anxiety, fear, and uneasiness, avoid unnecessary mental pressure, cooperate with diagnosis and treatment in a normal mental state, exercise strong will, and be full of hope for life. This is an important spiritual pillar to defeat cancer.

Measure 4: Prevent bedsores

In real life, if patients press a certain part for a long time while sleeping, they are prone to bedsores. Once bedsores occur, they will spread rapidly, further increasing the patient's pain and nutritional consumption. Therefore, for critically ill patients who have been bedridden for a long time, the body position should be changed, and for extremely weak patients, a soft cushion can be placed at the coccyx.
